Any junior or senior currently holding a position in student government who is interested in applying the United States Senate Youth Program which will qualify him/her for consideration for a $5,000 scholarship from the Hearst foundation should come to the guidance office for an application.

Any Junior or Senior interested in attending the Capital Area Education Fair on Wednesday, October 2nd, should stop by the guidance office for more information, and to pick up a permission slip. The slips must be returned to the guidance office by Monday September 30th.

SENIORS: If you are planning to apply to Eastern Illinois University, save your application fee, get a paper application and make an appointment with Mrs. Povse for EIU live admissions on Nov. 26.

Homecoming Tickets will be on sale through B lunch in the Commons. Tickets will not be sold after B lunch. If you purchase tickets at the door, the price is $15 per person. We do not replace lost or stolen tickets and you must bring your ticket to the dance.

Attention 9th graders there are still 131 students that have incomplete medical records. If you have received a letter from Nurse Kim please get the requested information back to her asap! All medical records must be complete and up to date by October 15th or you will not be allowed back to school.

The number of drunk driving deaths has been cut in half since MOTHERS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVING was founded in 1980. In addition to human life, drunk driving costs our nation $132 billion each year. By working together we can eliminate this problem from our country. Please use good judgement and enjoy a safe homecoming.

There will be a meeting on Monday, September 30th for all boys and their parents interested in Swimming for SHS this winter. The meeting will be at 7 PM in the Cafeteria.

Sign up for the Read for a Lifetime program and get rewarded for reading the best new teen books of the year. See Mrs. Dahmane in the library for details.

Monday is the last day to join French Club. Anyone can join, see Mrs. Boltz in Room 268 for more details. We will be out at Memorial Stadium for tailgate Friday night. Come see us and buy some delicious food!

Attention all seniors the annual senior Panoramic is today at 8:30 am! You will be dismissed via intercom in a few minutes. Bring your picture payment Monday, Sept. 30, during lunch. Large laminated panoramic photo is $25.00 each and a large panoramic with a medium panoramic costs $35.00.

The Boys JV team won 2 to 1 over Normal Community. Austin Kornak tied the game with a goal with 5 minutes left and Dominic Baptist won the game with a goal with 1 second left in the game. The Boys Varsity Soccer team improved to 13-1-1 with a 3 to 1 victory over Normal Community. Zephen Merreighn and Ryan Vasconcelles scored for the Senators.
