Any junior or senior currently holding a position in student government who is interested in applying the United States Senate Youth Program which will qualify him/her for consideration for a $5,000 scholarship from the Hearst foundation should come to the guidance office for an application.

SENIORS: If you are planning to apply to Eastern Illinois University, save your application fee, get a paper application and make an appointment with Mrs. Povse for EIU live admissions on Nov. 26.

Attention 9th graders you have less then 2 weeks to get your medical records into Nurse Kim & there are still 111 students that have incomplete medical records. If you have received a letter from Nurse Kim please get the requested information back to her asap! All medical records must be complete and up to date by October 15th or you will not be allowed back to school.

Anyone who ordered a High Pride T-shirt can come pick it up in Coach Reed’s room, 228.

Attention German Club! We will be having a meeting in the commons right after school today to discuss our new German Club T-Shirt and upcoming events. Hope to see you there.

There will be a SITE Club meeting tomorrow after school in Ms. Fox's room to discuss fundraising options for the 2013-2014 school year.

Be A Senator will be selling hot, delicious Papa John's pizza tomorrow during both lunch shifts for $2 per slice. Pizza, pizza, pizza, Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow!

Attention students, the 21st Century after school program will be taking registrations for students starting today in the Commons. Stop the 21st Century table in the Commons to learn about this exciting program.

Attention Spanish Club members! If you wish to order a Spanish Club t-shirt, please bring $10 to a Spanish teacher by tomorrow to sign up. This is a one-time order. Don't miss out! Questions? See a Spanish teacher.

Best Buddies will be starting this month. However, there will be an informal gathering of any interested students on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Southwind Park. We will be participating in the Land of Lincoln Down Syndrome Society annual Buddy Walk. If you are interested then please see Miss Maloney in Room 124 for a brochure. For $10 you can participate in the walk and receive a t-shirt. If you have questions, see Miss Maloney.

The City Volleyball Tournament is this week at SHG's West Gym. SHS plays Southeast at 7:00 and Thursday they play SHG at 7:00. Come cheer your team on.

Current CACC Students & their parents! Mark your calendars for CACC Open House on Thursday, October 17 from 5 – 7 PM. Food & Drink will be provided.

The Boys Soccer team improved to 16-1-1 and 6 and 0 in the CS8 with a 2 to Zero win over Jacksonville. Zephen Merreighn and Nate Cheung scored for the Senators. Eli Brower recorded the shut-out.
