Good morning Springfield High! Today is Wednesday, November 4, 2015 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Last call for those interested in Big Brother Big Sister! Please come pick up an application and/or information from Mrs. Taft in room 356. Applications must be turned in by the end of the school day, Today to Mrs. Taft.

Just before the curtain rises for the opening of the Fall Play “A Streetcar Named Desire” on Friday night, the SHS Spring Musical will be announced! But, this year there is a catch. If you attend any Fall Play this weekend, you will get the opportunity to sign up for a specific audition time in advance! To qualify, please present your ticket to the S.T.A.G.E. representative in the lobby prior to the show. Those in the play will automatically be eligible. Also, mark your calendars for the Spring Musical audition dates, December 7th & 8th. Please visit SHSmusical.wordpress.com for more information.
The curtain opens Friday, November 6th, at 7:30 p.m. in the Schnirring Auditorium at Springfield High School. Saturday, November 7th performance also begins at 7:30 p.m. and closing with Sunday, November 8th performance at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens can be purchased in advance in the main office or at the door. All seating is general admission.
FREE T-SHIRTS FOR BLOOD DONORS!! Staff & Students 16 or older can donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center on Tue., November 17, from 8:30am-2:30pm. Students aged 16 must have a signed parental consent form. You must sign up during lunch-in the Commons, before school or after school-in the Guidance Office by 3:30 pm on Monday, November 16. Teachers & Staff do not need to sign up, you can report to the auditorium at your convenience. Blood donations SAVE LIVES! Any questions-please see Mr. Williams.

Be A Senator will be selling hot, delicious, Papa John’s pizza on Thursday during both lunch shifts for $2 per slice. Pizza, Pizza, Pizza, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday!

Attention Senators! If you were NOT tardy during 1st quarter and did NOT receive any discipline referrals during first quarter, you have qualified for the 1st quarter acknowledgement. If you qualified, you can get a DQ treat on Friday during your lunch shift in the commons.

Bonjour everyone. To help celebrate National French Week, French Club will be selling bon-bons starting today after school. They are only $1 each.

Any juniors and seniors interested in joining the ROTC, please see Mr. Kyes in room 153A. Navy reps will be presenting on Thursday Nov. 5 in the auditorium.

Senator Wrestling: If you missed the informational wrestling meeting and you are interested in joining the wrestling team see Coach Berger. Best time to catch him is immediately after school Wednesday or Friday. He will be in the weight room or wrestling room.

The football equipment check-in for Freshmen is Thursday @ 4pm or Friday right after school. All check-ins are in the coaches office downstairs. Football has to be out of the locker room by Friday so all players who do not turn in their equipment before this weekend will be billed for replacement costs.

Brewer Animal Hospital is looking for an evening Kennel Attendant. Job responsibilities include walking dogs, cleaning cages, feed, give medicine, and more. If you love animals and are interested you can apply in person at 971 Clocktower Dr., See Mrs. Devlin with questions.

SHS scholastic bowl team takes 2 of 3 in the first of three matches against CS8 competition. The team defeated
SHG and SEHS and lost to Chatham. Here are the statistics for students and the amount of toss up questions they answered Sam W: 7, Sam I: 9, Kyle: 6, Mark: 1, Sean: 1, & Ellie: 1

The soccer team ended the season with a record of 22-5. The team won the CS8 for the 5 straight year. Great job getting to the Elite 8 of State.
