Does your child consistently excel in class? There is a pivotal meeting in Springfield, December 2nd at 6 PM at 801 N Rutledge, you should attend. An Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy representative will be present to discuss another choice at excellence for high school. Meet area IMSA parents who know what providing better educational opportunities for their kids is all about.

Blood Drive on Monday, November 30th, from 9am - 2pm. Students & staff will have an opportunity to donate blood to the Central Illinois Community Blood Center. Students must be 16 or older. Students aged 16 must have a parental consent form signed by a parent or guardian. The sign-up sheet, parental consent form, and information sheet can be found in the Guidance Office. You can sign up during lunch, before school, or after school, and everyone must sign up by 3:30 pm on Wednesday, November 25th. If there are questions, please see Mr. Williams.

Mrs. Povse is looking for students who would like to attend a Pathways to Your Future presentation at Lincoln Land Community College on January 7 from 9:45-12:45. This presentation is geared to career areas that you may be interested in. Stop by Guidance to get a Career Interest Survey and a permission slip. The deadline for sign-up is November 25. Lunch is provided by LLCC.

The next college bus trip is to Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, on December 8. Stop by Guidance to get your permission slip.

Information on spring semester ACT Prep Classes from Better Test Scores can be found in the guidance office.

Tomorrow, Josten's will meet with the seniors during periods 2 and 5 to order caps and gowns. The seniors will go to their classes and wait to be called to the auditorium via the intercom. The 5th hour meeting will be for CACC students.

Hello, Hello! There will be a meeting regarding Rally Against Childhood Cancer today after school in Mr. Goff’s room in the science wing.

Three more days for the Student Council Winter Clothes Drive! Currently Latin is in the lead with 111 point, Mrs. Leblang in second with 57, and Dr. Lescault in third with 35. Keep bringing in items to get a free breakfast on December 1! Remember Coats are 5 points, Shoes are 3 points, hats, gloves, scarves, and new socks are all one!

Any senior interested in Susan B Chase scholarship, formerly known as the Bank One scholarship, must attend one of the meetings in the auditorium before school, during lunch or after school tomorrow. Packets and information will be handed out then. Any questions? See Ms. Maloney.

Students that do not have a zero hour class are reminded that you are not allowed to enter the building before 7:45 AM.

There will a No Shave November meeting to talk about our progress with fundraising and plans over Thanksgiving break. It will be in Mr. Telger's room right after school.

Mrs. Daughtery is still looking for her peach colored wallet. If you find it, please return it to the main office. It is full of mementos that cannot be replaced. There is a $100 reward.

Loose Something???? If you have left your books in the cafeteria, the halls or in the commons-you might find them on "The Bookcase" in the Guidance Office. Every Friday the Books are returned to the teachers classroom. If you have a notebook or anything else missing, it might be in "The White Box" outside of the Guidance Office or in the Attendance Office. At the end of the month the papers and other misc. materials, jackets, hats, etc. will be donated or thrown away.

The German Advent calendars have arrived. German Club is selling these Advent calendars for $4 a piece. Please hurry and come to room 250 to get them before they are gone.

Junior class is selling black class of 2011 fleeces. They come full zip or zip and cost $35. They make great holiday gifts. Call or email Mrs. Pence at 525-3100 or npence@springfield.k12.il.us for order forms or pick one up in room 210. The next order will be due by December 2nd to guarantee a delivery by the holidays.

Hey Hey JSA! We will be having a debate on Wednesday this week. Thank you very much to everyone who attended fall state.

In Galesburg this weekend, the Lady Senator basketball team won two games over East Moline and the host team. In the East Moline game, SHS won 59 to 26 and was led in scoring by Zahna Medley with 17 points. Kasi Korza and Demi VanDerWal each reached double figures. In the nightcap against Galesburg, SHS won 96 to 66 with Kelly Korza leading the way with 20 points and Medley with 19. Kasi Korza, VanDerWal, Amber Cason and Ashton Williams all reached double figures in the game. Next up for SHS is two more games in Galesburg this Friday against last year's state champ Peoria Richwoods and Rock Island Alleman. Good job ladies.
