Student ID’s from picture retakes are available in the main office

Memorial Medical Center is canceling the Explorer Post meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight in the Wedeberg Conference Center. The cancellation is intended to minimize the spread of germs and protect the health of Explorer Post participants during flu season. Please watch for information about the December meeting.

The Illinois Society of Professional Engineering has a scholarship available for Seniors interested in engineering with an ACT of 29 in Math. See Mr. Lawson

Any 10th grade student who would like to attend the Hugh O’Brien leadership seminar next summer at the U of I, should see Mr. Lawson.

Greater Springfield Area Chamber Workplace skills film project is having an open call for auditions Saturday, November 7th starting at 9 AM until noon at Capital Area Career Center. Actors wanted: 4 lead characters and several support actors are needed. Age of characters are high school seniors, acting experience preferred but not required, all participating actors and members of this project are volunteers and will be named in film credits. Upload a resume of acting experience and why you would like to participate in this film project, along with a personal photo to http://chamberjobvideo.ning.com/ or bring them to the audition. Update on the Engineering Academy! It has been postponed until January. Here are the new dates:

Students will be receiving a letter this week letting them know the new dates.

Dodgeball forms are available in the main office for the 1st ever SHS Dodgeball Tournament Friday, November 6. Cost is only $30 for a team of 6 – 8 people.

All boys, not in a fall sport, interested in Varsity boys basketball should come to a meeting in Coach Reed’s room directly after school tomorrow at 3:30. Questions, see Coach Reed.

Do you love that Chicken from Popeye’s? French Club will be selling Popeye’s at lunch today in the commons. For $5 you will receive chicken strips, mashed potatoes, and a biscuit. See you today!

Project Art Students! Your money is due by next Tuesday, November 10th to Mrs. Pianezza or Huff. In addition there will be a mandatory meeting Tuesday, November 10th.

Help plan the 2010 Rally against Childhood cancer by coming to room 522 Friday after school.

All football players that have not turned in their equipment or cleaned out their lockers will need to do so by Friday. The locker room will be cleaned out for Wrestling. Any personal items left after school on Friday will be thrown away. There will also be a meeting for all Football players on Monday in the weight room to talk about the weight room schedule and the workout program. Banquet information will also be coming soon.

There will be a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting Monday, November 9th. The meeting will be at 7 PM in room 266 and should last an hour. See you there!

Wrestling starts Monday, November 9 for all those interested. You need to have a physical and athletic waiver on file to participate. If interested see Coach Nesbit in room 266. See you Monday.
