Juniors and Seniors: Check out the bulletin boards in the hallway outside of Guidance for college and scholarship-related information. Check the school website under Guidance for college representative dates and scholarship information.

Attention seniors: If you are a former Camp Care-A-Lot camper please see Mrs. Povse in the Guidance office for information on a possible $2500 per semester scholarship.

The annual Senior panoramic picture is on Friday, October 23 at 8:40 AM.

The yearbook staff is in need of candid pictures for the collage pages of the senior section. Please submit any candid pictures of you and your friends to Mrs. Devlin’s mailbox.

For students who are interested in DePaul University-a representative will be at Sacred Heart Griffin High School from 6:30-8:30 tonight. A representative from Notre Dame will be at St. Thomas More High School in Champaign on Tues., Oct 27 at 7:00.

Voting is now open for all SHS students. Go to the school's home page to vote for your favorite Academy Logo. One logo will be chosen for each academy at the three high schools. You may only vote once. Voting is open through Wednesday.

Please check lost and found for clothing in 106 if you have lost anything. Mrs Kidd will taking things to Goodwill every Friday to help keep the office from smelling and looking cluttered.

There are some wonderful opportunities to volunteer and make your community a better place. Former Franklin Middle School students are especially encouraged to volunteer at your former alma mater Thursday October 29 and Friday October 30, again see the NHS board for contact info and details for the events.

Attention Spanish Club members. Our next meeting will be after school Wednesday, October 21 in the commons. Permission slips for the October 24th wiener roast are due by 3:30 on October 21st also. See a Spanish Club teacher today.

Math Club meeting Wednesday, October 21st in room 210, from 3:20 – 3:30 PM. Anyone interested in being in Math club should attend. If you can’t make it to the meeting, see Mrs. Pence by Wednesday.

Come join project ART & create clothes out of recyclables. Information meeting Today at 3:30 in room 233. See Ms. Huff or Mrs. P for more information. Hope to see you there!

There will be no Scholastic Bowl practice Today. We will practice after school on Thursday this week. Remember to bring your questions to practice.

Hey hey JSA! If you want to attend Fall State, you must register online by today. It only takes a few minutes and you don’t have to pay until November 3rd. Also we will be having a thought talk on healthcare this Wednesday. Don’t forget to register!

Best Friends is meeting this Friday. Our Halloween party will have crafts, games, and of course lots of food! Please remember to bring your dues! We will be having tons of fun so come and see for yourself!

Singers, Dancers, Actors! It’s time for Springfield Idol! Please sign up in the choir room for an audition time. Auditions are October 27 & 28 after school. The contest will be held November 19th. There will be cash prizes.

Hungry for tacos? No need to run for the border. Just power walk to the commons. The class of 2010 will be selling delicious Taco Bell tacos for $1 on Thursday. Remember , tacos, tacos, tacos, Thursday, Thursday, Thursday!

Greater Springfield Area Chamber Workplace skills film project is having an open call for auditions Saturday, November 7th starting at 9 AM until noon at Capital Area Career Center. Actors wanted: 4 lead characters and several support actors are needed. Age of characters are high school seniors, acting experience preferred but not required, all participating actors and members of this project are volunteers and will be named in film credits. Upload a resume of acting experience and why you would like to participate in this film project, along with a personal photo to http://chamberjobvideo.ning.com/ or bring them to the audition. There will be a meeting for all current NHS members Thursday, October 22nd. Meetings will be held at 7:50 AM and directly after school, in Mrs. Ruedin’s room. You only need to attend one meeting and you should bring all of the hours you have completed for the semester with you. We will go over all requirements at the meeting. See you there.
