Mandatory Senior Meeting, this Wednesday, May 18th, 2nd hour in the commons In order to receive Cap and Gown, all previous years textbooks and library books must be turned in or paid in full. AND ALL school lab fees must be paid.
Exam exemption forms will be available in the guidance office starting today, May 16. Completed exam exemption forms are due by Friday, May 20… NO LATER THAN 4:00pm!!
Attention all students who are interested in directing the Fall Play next year - there will be an application process that will be followed for next year’s show. Please see Ms. Greco in the Guidance Office if interested in directing. Applications will be due by May 25th.

The SHS boys tennis team tied Glenwood at the CS8 conference this weekend to win as co-champs. Doubles partners Bailey Gill and Moshe Latif placed first and doubles partners Sean Burke and Tim Hughes placed fourth. Singles player Raj Sinha placed 2nd and singles player Shaul Latif placed 3rd. Congratulations to all these boys for their hardwork!! Come cheer them on at sectionals this weekend!
The SHS boys track and field team won their 3rd straight CS8 title on Friday night. CS8 Champions for SHS were: Wendel Burnes in the 100, Eddie Smith in the 200, Heath Warren in the 800 and 1600, Jackson Esela in the 3200, Jacob Woodard in the 300 Hurdles, and the 4x100 relay team of Deon Avant, Nnamdi Onyewuchi, Eddie Smith and Wendel Burnes. Also, congratulations to Heath Warren for breaking his own meet and school record in the 800 and running the #1 time in the state and #18 time in the US for the 800. The time also qualifies Heath for the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in June!
All boys track athletes not competing in the sectional meet need to return their uniforms and clean out their lockers by Thursday this week! Also all boy track athletes need to come to practice on Thursday to help put the mats away and get a banquet form. If you are not there on Thursday, you cannot attend the banquet. You should be done no later than 4:30 on Thursday. See Coach Cotner if you have any questions.
The Lady Senators Track and Field team finished in fourth place in monsoon conditions at the Rock Island Sectional Friday. Qualifying for the State Track and Field Meet this weekend at EIU were: Ozzy Erewele first place in the 100 with a time of 12.1, Aly Goff second place in the 800 (2:17.96), Natalie Motor second place in the 3200 (11:42.6), and the 3rd place 4x100 team of Chieme Udaku, Lauren Ferguson, Kyra Webster, and Ozzy Erewele whose time of 48.35 beat the qualifying standard. Other top finishers were: Lauren Ferguson 3rd in the 300 hurdles, 5th place finishers Gabby Wood in the 3200, Kyra Webster in the 100 high hurdles, and Rekha Goswami in the pole vault. Emily Smoot finished 6th in the pole vault.
