Morning Announcements for Wednesday, January 7
With the New Year we want to remind all students the Springfield Public Schools' dress code states no sagging or bagging of pants, no holes in pants, no revealing, low-cut tops. Dress code violations will be issued detentions.
The class of 2012 will be selling Subway sandwiches Thursday, January 8, 2009 during lunch. The cost is $3 for a 6 inch ham or turkey sub sandwich. Remember keep it fresh buy Subway.
Conditioning for baseball will begin today after school from 3:40- 4:40. Meet in the annex. This is for all of those interested in coming out for baseball this spring, as well as anyone who would like to participate.
Any junior or senior interested in being a member of this year's WYSE academic team needs to attend a meeting with Mr. Adkins after school on Thursday. The meeting will be in room 230 and should last approximately 25 minutes. We are looking for students who excel in Science, Math, English, or Computer Science.
There will be an informational meeting for any boys interested in participating in track and field this season. The meeting will be held after school on Friday January 6th in the Boys track and field locker room.
All girls interested in going out for girls track in the spring: Please meet in Coach Edwards room, room 521 immediately after school on Thursday!
If you received a new cell phone over the holidays, we can recycle it for you. Bring your old cell phone to room 156. We also recycle ink cartridges.
Reminder for JILG students: The bus for the Lincoln Land trip leaves this morning at 9:10 AM. We will return around 1 PM.
The Lady Senator basketball team lost to Quincy Notre Dame last night 70 to 52. Kelly Korza led SHS in scoring with 22 points and Allison Anderson chipped in 12. Next up is a game tomorrow night in Lincoln.
Attention all JSA members: There will be a brief, mandatory meeting for all those interested in attending Winter Congress this Thursday after school in Mr. Lightfoot's room. We will be discussing registration, transportation, and fundraising. See you then!
On Friday night's home boys basketball game, the last Springfield High State Basketball Championship team of 1959 will be honored. Any student that does up 1950's style on Friday during the day please stop by and sign up in Coach Reed's room for a gift certificate. Hope to see you there!
