Good morning Springfield High! Today is Monday, November 21, 2016 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

Teachers, please input progress reports before midnight tonight. Students …..you will receive your progress report Wednesday.

Be A Senator is selling SHS shirts. Order forms are available in each of the offices or on the school website. Orders are due in Guidance by Dec. 7th.

Achtung Achtung German Club! If you would like to purchase our new German Club T-Shirt, please see Herr Koeppel in room 250 by Tuesday, November 22 to sign up. Please bring $5 for your shirt.

The Picture Retakes are in. Stop by room 254 to get yours.

All students who took the PSAT in October are eligible for a discount. Please stop by the main office to pick up your cash! Questions see Ms. Smith or Mr. Barnes.

There will be a short informational meeting for all boys not involved in a winter sport that are interested in winter conditioning for track and field after school on Tuesday in the commons. The meeting will only last 5 minutes. Please see Coach Cotner if you cannot attend.

There will be a mandatory football meeting for all freshmen through juniors that plan on playing next year tomorrow in the Commons right after school. If you are in a winter sport please stop by, sign in, and pick up all the paperwork. The meeting will be very brief. If you are not at the meeting you will not be registered on the team HUDL account for next season.

The Lady Senator basketball team won a pair of games on Saturday by beating Dunlap 65 to 34 and Rock Island Alleman 69 to 51. Everyone scored against Dunlap and was led by Montshianna Pullman with 16 points. In the 2nd game, Raina Gully led SHS with 22 points, Ashley Robinson added 12 and Nicole Swehla chipped in 10. Way to go ladies!

Thank you to the all the staff and students who helped at the Kick Off tournament this Saturday for Scholastic Bowl. We couldn’t have done it without you! The A team finished 6th out of 30 tough competitive teams. Great job, Julia Gorden, Geoff Datz, Jack Sandstrom, Ben Yoder and Aidan Fein. Aiden was named to the All Tournament team as the 3rd highest scoring individual! The B team finish 9th in the same tough pool. Very proud of the fight these JV players put up against Varsity competition: Molly Harms, Mick Gremer, Jack Allen, Drew Borland, Miles Ralph and Miles Wilson. Good job! There will NOT be any practices this week after school”Happy Thanksgiving!
