Good morning Springfield High! Today is Friday, December 2, 2016 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!

If you are interested in applying to be a Senate Page you must complete an application. You can pick up an application from Mrs. Devlin. The applications are also on the board outside her office room 121. They must be turned back in to Mrs. Devlin by December 3.

The deadline for turning in baby pics and getting portraits done is extended until Christmas break. Bring your baby pic and $10 to room 254. Call Grussenmeyer “Class Act” Photography, 787-6688, to make an appointment for your sitting”cost $18. Capitol Line Yearbook is now accepting Senior quotes, if you get your quote from the internet, you must give credit to the source. Give your quotes to Kashay Lee or Mrs. Eslahi Room 254. THEIR IS NO COST!!
The Capitoline Yearbook is still on sale at $60 a copy; if you cannot pay the full amount now, you can pay 1/2 and the rest later. In January, the cost will be $70 per copy.

Senate Page applications are due to Mrs. Devlin by Friday, Dec. 3. Interviews will be here at SHS on Tuesday December 6.

Be A Senator is selling SHS shirts. Order forms are available in each of the offices or on the school website. Orders are due in Guidance by Dec. 7th.

There will be a Showchoir combo (band) rehearsal next Tuesday December 6th 7-8pm and Tuesday December 13th from 7-8:30pm in the choir room. Please bring instruments and your music. There will be a performance on Wednesday, Dec 14th that we will be preparing for. Hope to see you all there Next Tuesday.

We still have 40 students who took the PSAT in October that are eligible for your discount that have yet to pick it up. Please stop by the main office TODAY to get your cash! For questions see Ms. Smith or Mr. Barnes.

Scholastic Bowl - There will not be a bus to the Athens tournament. We will be carpooling from the commons Saturday morning.

Congratulations to our outstanding students who are being honored tonight at the Urban League Dinner. The Urban League honors students each year who are academic all stars and school leaders. Tonight they will honor Kendall West, Sarah Ashebir, Zaire Harris and Osereme “Ozzie” Erwele. Great job, Senators, we are proud of you.

The Lady Senator basketball team opened up conference play last night by beating Decatur MacArthur 92 to 24. SHS was led in scoring by Raina Gully with 23 points. Also scoring in double figures was Abby Ratsch, Montshianna Pulliam, and Makayla Richardson. Next up for SHS is game tomorrow against Lincoln with the varsity game starting around 12:30.
