Good morning Springfield High! Today is Monday, May 22, 2017 where successful Senators follow the classroom and school wide expectations and allow for learning all throughout the building. Thank you for Being A Senator!


Shout out to our 4th Quarter Shlotto drawing winners! Liz Schoedel, Gage Hamill, Hannah Frazier, Brook Bower, James Watson, Terrence Cypress & Sydney Moore. A big thank you to the teachers who handed them out: Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Eslahi, Mr. Maxwell, Mr. Cotner & Mr. Steinwart. They all received a coupon for a free meal at Buffalo Wild Wings!!


The Be a Senator 4th quarter acknowledgement is today during lunch. All students with no tardies, no referrals and no unexcused absences or excessive absences are eligible to receive a Dairy Queen Dilly bar. Check the lists posted outside Guidance, in the cafeteria and the Commons for your name. Yeah!! DQ Dilly bars


The SHS Football Card Raffle starts today. Players are in uniform selling discount cards today and tomorrow only. For each $20 card you purchase you get a raffle ticket. Students can win Wireless Beats, $40 Best Buy gift card, $40 Target gift card, or a $20 I-tunes gift card by taking their raffle ticket to Coach Gully in room 124. Staff can win 4 Cardinals tickets, 2 Cubs tickets, or a $40 gas card by placing their ticket in the appropriate tub in the office. The raffle will end after school Tuesday and winners will be announced Wednesday Morning.


Anyone interested in cross-country next fall there will be a meeting after school in the commons on Tuesday, May 23. If you are out for a spring sport and cannot attend, please contact Coach Devlin.


PE lockers must be cleaned out by the end of the day tomorrow, Tuesday, May 23.


Several Springfield High people contributed to a successful Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. Big thank yous to Ms Vanderleest , Mr & Mrs Goff, the FCA members and to the other students who made signs, Thank you to the ladies that wrote sayings in the streets, and  to Mrs. Slater, Coach Steinwart  and the baseball team for the work on the fence. Thank you for being Bold, Fearless and More.  


The baseball team concluded its regular season on Saturday with an 11to 1 loss to Edwardsville, Austin Alderman had an excellent day at the plate with 3 hits including a double. Other great things happened over the weekend for the 20 and 12 Senators, as four seniors were selected to the All-Conference team. Alderman, Troemper, Minder, and Pierce. Junior Jimmy Hollahan received special mention honors, and Clayton Gaulding is featured in today’s SJ-R as the Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Many congrats to all of these fine young men. Next up are regionals beginning Wednesday night in O’Fallon against Belleville East.
