Are you interested in directing the Fall Play? If so, pick up an application and requirements in the main office. The Fall Play is student directed and requires a staff member as the adult sponsor. All applications are due on September 13th, 2017.
Any person interested in participating in Scholastic bowl this season should plan to attend the meeting on Wednesday, September 13 at 5:30 in the Commons with a parent. Contact Coach Teichman with questions.
The XC Team competed in the LHS Invite on Saturday. Varsity Girls finished 3rd out of 13 teams. Shay Doty was top finisher. In the JV Girls race, Madison Ridley was top finisher. The Varsity boys finished 4th out of 14 teams. Kyle Boughter was top placer for SHS. The Freshman boys team placed !st and Luke Flesner was overall winner in the Frshman. In the JV Boys race Ben Brower was top finisher for HS!
Attention seniors: More scholarships have been added to the scholarship database; the newest being the Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship and William Randolph Hurst scholarships. Check the database or see Mrs. Lauer in the post secondary office for details!
Would you like to help end the educational crisis in the world? If so, you should join Springfield High’s newest club, Pen in a Box, to help collect school supplies. Pen in a Box meets one Monday per month and the first meeting is on Monday, September 18th right after school in room 354. Snacks will be provided. Bring a pack of pens or pencils to Allison Teichman, Tayli Shekleton, or Mrs. Kaisner in room 354 to join today!
Students this a reminder that book bags or cinch bags are not allowed during the school day and that includes going to your 7th period class or pe.
The varsity football team lost a heartbreaker on Saturday to Decatur MacArthur by the score of 14-13. Coach Gully would like to thank all the students and staff that came out to support the team. The team has another big game coming up this Friday at home against Southeast.
Any choir student interested in getting a Singing Senators t shirt or hoodie, make sure your form and money is in to Mrs. Pinter NO LATER than Wednesday, Sept. 13th.

Achtung Achtung German Club! If you are planning to come to the Kick-off Party this Friday, please join us for a short meeting in room 250 this Wednesday, September 13 to sign-up and discuss details. Please remember, the Kick-off Party is only for students who have signed up for German Club.

Attention Seniors. Your class panoramic picture will be taken on Friday, September 15th at 8:00 am on the front lawn, weather permitting. The pictures will then be available for purchase during the lunch shifts on Monday, September 18th. Packages range from $25 to $45, and cash, checks, or money orders will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to the Goldbeck Company.
Any Junior interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT test should bring $18 to the Guidance office no later than next Friday, September 15th to sign up. This is the National Merit Scholar Qualifying Test, and your score could qualify you for scholarship offers. If you have any questions please see Ms. Smith.
The class of 2019 will be selling T-shirts and sweatpants in front of the Main Office. Order forms are due Tuesday.

Attention juniors and seniors: There will be a Historically Black College & University Fair in Danville on October 24th from 4-6:30pm. Please see Mrs. Lauer in the post secondary office or check the “Special Programs” page on the guidance webpage for details!
Students and Staff - Parking lot checks have started. We are checking for SHS parking stickers and that all cars are in the appropriate lot and space. JUNIORs, we will raffle off five new parking spaces on Monday. Make sure you are on the list to get a parking sticker so you have a chance of getting a spot. Sign up in main office if you did not already.
