There are three ways to access the SHS athletic schedules and information.  On the SHS page located on the right hand side there is a blurb titled Athletic Schedules and Information click on this and it will take your there;  you may also go to the athletic page and click on the sentence titled Athletic Schedules and Information; or your may go the following link  https://springfieldhighschoolil.bigteams.com

Did you forget to order a yearbook last year?  Or even the year before? Or the year before?  Yearbook staff has past yearbooks on sale all semester!  See Ms. Moon in room 364 if you would like to purchase one!  

Seniors! Our new senior photographer is Kari Bedford Photography. You can schedule a session immediately  using the link   https://theschoolhouse.youcanbook.me/  (again    https://theschoolhouse.youcanbook.me/  ). Deadline is November 15th. You can find the link on our school website in the blue box, and flyers will be passed out this week.  Getting your picture taken by Lifetouch on picture day will be optional. 

Picture Day is Friday, September 6! Set an alert on your calendars, so you don’t forget!

Student activity passes are on sale. These will cost $35 and may be purchased in the main office before or after school only.

Freshmen student government packets are due back by 3:30 today. See Mr Kramer or Ms Troike with questions.

Attention Springfield High! If you are interested in joining German Club this year, please print and fill out the sign-up sheet on the German Club website and turn it in with your $5 membership fee to Herrn Koeppel in room 250. 

The Investment Club will meet in the commons on September 4th at 2:30. Everyone is welcome, see Leardi or Ethan Sommer if you have any questions.

If you are thinking about taking the October Saturday SAT, and you might be eligible for a fee waiver, please sign up ASAP with Mr. Kramer.

Game day. 7:00 Memorial Stadium. Be there.  Come out on tonight and see your 2019 Varsity football team try and get some revenge on the MacArthur Generals. The Generals have edged the Senators the past 2 seasons by a total of 3 points and Friday night should be another great game. A large crowd for the home opener could be the difference this year. Kickoff is at 7 pm at Memorial Stadium. Be a part of the states best student section and there will also be giveaways all season in the SHS staff section as well. 

Atención! All are welcome to join Spanish Club for as little as $5. Spanish Club members can enjoy fun activities like the back to school fiesta, watching movies in Spanish, the International Dinner, paintball, capture the flag, bowling, dinner at a Mexican restaurant, and more!  For information on joining, please see Señor Reichert, Señora Armstrong, or Señora Hopper.

Do you like taking pictures? Do you want to learn more about what happens behind the scenes of a movie set? Then join the SHS Photo/Video Club. The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 4th in the commons from 2:30 - 3:00. Hope to see you there!

Hey Springfield High!  Have you ever wanted to learn sign language?  Well … now is your chance.  We will have our first Sign Language Club meeting Monday, September 9th in room 364 from 3:30-4:30. Hope to see you there.  If you have any questions see Mrs. Davis in room 363 or Terrence Cypress

The Illinois Department of Transportation has been helping students explore the different aspects of engineering by having a“First Nighter” scheduled for Wednesday – September 18th from 6:00 to 8:00 at the IDOT Central Office – 2300 South Dirksen Parkway in Springfield.  It will be an opportunity for students, their parents, and teaching professionals to ask questions and for the students to sign up for the Engineering Exploring Program.  The participation fee for new Explorers is $60.00 (payable September 18th), which will cover registration fees and the Engineering Explorers Post 6 T-shirt.  See Leardi if you have questions.

Rochester High is hosting a STEM fair on September 11th at 6:00 p.m.  This event is free for families and showcases STEM opportunities and features drones, robots, environmental science and computer programming.  To register, search RochesterSTEMFair on google or Facebook.

The boys soccer team defeated state power Edwardsville 2-1 last night. The Senators got goals from Ben Huston and Wolf Brethorst , while Collin Taylor stopped a penalty kick to preserve the win. Great job boys!!!
