There are three ways to access the SHS athletic schedules and information.  On the SHS page located on the right hand side there is a blurb titled Athletic Schedules and Information click on this and it will take your there; you may also go to the athletic page and click on the sentence titled Athletic Schedules and Information; or your may go the following link  https://springfieldhighschoolil.bigteams.com

The homecoming dance is tomorrow at SHS. It’s going to be awesome.  If you are bringing a guest from another school, you must get the blue guest form from the guidance office and have all information filled out correctly.  ALL GUESTS MUST BRING A PHOTO ID WITH THEM.

For everyone coming to the dance tomorrow from 7-10: Homecoming is a formal event and you are expected to look nice. T-shirts are not allowed. Tennis shoes are allowed. Tickets are $15 each, buy them Saturday night at the door or buy them on either lunch shift this week.

Juniors- we will be selling baked goods at tailgate. Please bring cookies, brownies, Rice Krispie treats or any other favorite baked item to Mrs. Devlin in room 121 today. 

If you are thinking about taking the October Saturday SAT, and you might be eligible for a fee waiver, please sign up ASAP with Mr. Kramer.

Your 2019-2020 yearbooks are on sale now!  Go to yearbookforever.com to purchase one!  Do so now as prices will increase throughout the semester!   Past yearbooks are still for sale in Moon’s room, 364. 

SENIORS!!! VERY IMPORTANT! LISTEN UP! Only 75 of you have signed up to have your pictures taken by Kari Bedford Photography. If you would like a unique senior photo in the yearbook, book your session now at www.schoolhousepics.com.  There is a link on the SHS website, posters around the school, and an SHS yearbook Facebook page for your parents.

Feminist club! Great turn out last week, but we would love to see more of your faces! Our next meeting is Thursday, Sept. 26 right after school until around 4!  Bring yourself and bring a friend! 

Any junior or senior interested in political science, local government, and/or the future of the city of Springfield, the Mayor's office is looking for SHS students to join the Mayor's Youth Council this year. Please see Mr. Kyes in the guidance office for information. 

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will have its first meeting next Tuesday, Sept. 24th, from 6-7pm in the cafeteria. Kevin Elliot, the director of FCA in the state of Illinois, will be our guest speaker. There will also be pizza and a discussion of activities for the upcoming year. If you have any questions, please talk to Mr. Lightfoot in room 330.

Would like to learn sign language?  Come join the fun at Sign Language Club on Monday, September 23 from 3:30-4:30 in Room 362.  Any questions, see Ms. Davis in Room 363 or Terrance Cypress.  Hope to see you there.  There will be a sign language/deaf culture event at Dew Chili Parlor (on Dirksen) at 6:00 pm on Monday and all sign club participants are welcome to join. 

D&D Club is cancelled for today and will reconvene next Thursday, September 26th from 3:30-5:00.  Please see Mr. Havener for questions.

The boys golf team shot a 164 at the 2nd day of city, September 18th.  Austen Floyd led the senators with a 38.  Jake Baldin fired a 40.  Peyton woods added a 41 and Charlie Roberts carded a 45. The boys golf team finished up the city tournament last night.  The Senators lost to SHG in the 3 day contest.  Austen Floyd earned a top 5 spot with a 3 day score of 118.  The senators were led by Jake Baldin and Charlie Roberts both carding 39s on the final day.  Austen Floyd and Brian Becker added 43s.  The Senators head to the Pekin Invite today for a 2 day tournament.
