Clarification for Seniors and Senior Parents - if you want to be in the yearbook you have two choices: either get your picture taken at school with Lifetouch OR get your senior portraits done with Kari Bedford photography before November 15th. School pictures retake date has been changed to November 18th.

The Second Annual College and University Fair will be held at Union Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 15th from 4:00-8:00 pm. If you are interested in attending a Historically Black College or perhaps another state college please attend this event. If you have any questions please see Mr. Robinson.
SHS students and staff- Be A Senator is selling T-shirts for Be A Senator Night at the Oct. 18 Football game against U-High. Support our Be A Senator Program by buying and wearing our t-shirt!! T-shirt order forms will be available on Pizza Thursday in the Commons and in the Guidance office. Orders are due by end of today.
There will be a Sign Language Club meeting today after school from 3:30-4:30 in room 362. All interested students are welcome. If you have any questions contact Mrs. Davis in Room 363 or Terrance Cypress.
Come today to Prehealth club! We will be meeting after school until 4:00-ish in Miss Stash's room, 521, with a nurse administrator. It's a great opportunity to learn about a potential future career! Hope to see you there!
The varsity cross country team competed in the Peoria High Invite on Saturday at Detweiller park. The girls team finished 25th out of 36 teams. Varsha Iyer was the top finisher for SHS. The boys team finished 2nd out of 43 teams. Kyle Boughter was the top finisher for SHS. The junior varsity cross country team competed in the Jacksonville invite on Saturday. The girls team finished 8th out 12 teams. Maggie O'Brien was the top finisher for SHS. The boys team finished 8th out of 18 teams. Jacob Graham was the top finisher for SHS.
The volleyball team was 3-2 at the Triad tournament with victories over Nashville, Collinsville & Triad. Also congratulations to Mel McKeown for being named to the all tournament team.
The JV girls golf team finished out their season on Friday with victories over Auburn and Glenwood. Freshman Megan Hoffman earned medalist honors with a 50. Freshman Tally Martin also had a strong performance for the Senators with a 53.
The varsity girls golf team finished 3rd out of 8 teams at the Auburn Ryder Cup event on Saturday. Senior Jackie Romer and Junior Katie Mae Milhiser led the senators with a team total of 81. They finished 2nd in the best ball portion of the event. The team will shoot for a regional title this Thursday at Lincoln Greens.
