If you’d like to participate in the 2019 Women’s Leadership Essay Contest, any student can write a 500 word essay about who inspires you and turn it in before December 1st. See Leardi for details!

The next blood drive is November 26th. See Mr. Covey in room 510 to signup to donate.  You must be at least 16 and weigh at least 110 pounds to donate.  9.5 million Americans donate blood each year.  An adult has approximately 10-12 pints of blood.  About 1 in 7 people entering the hospital need blood.  The blood center can produce up to 4 lifesaving products from 1 pint of whole blood.  More than 40,000 pints of donated blood are used each day in the US and Canada.  Cancer is the number one use of blood and blood products at 19%.  38% of the population is eligible to give blood, but less than 10% actually donate.  The US Food and Drug Administration regulates the blood supply and mandates that blood donors not be paid or receive any item “readily convertible to cash” in return for their donations. Only voluntary donations can be used for transfusion.

Please come out and get your first look at the boys basketball team tonight. They will be having their Black and Red Scrimmage game starting around 6:30. Would be great to have student body and staff support.
