The deadline to sign up and pay for an AP exam is Friday, November 6th.  Students need to login to their MyAp.Collegeboard.org account and select the tests they want to take.  Each test is $94, payment is also due on November 6th.  Cash or checks can be dropped by the Guidance Office or a check can be mailed to the school.  Checks should be made out to SHS.  Please include the student name and which AP test(s) they want to take.  Any questions?  Contact Mrs. Adeniji in the Guidance Office or at kadeniji@sps186.org

An informational zoom meeting will be held Sunday, October 18 at 1:00 for any minority high school girls interested in learning about a six month program hosted by Springfield Delta Sigma Theta Sorority that focuses on self esteem, etiquette, college preparation, career planning, and STEM.  For more information and to register for the zoom meeting, email  deltaacademy.sdaac@gmail.com

The Booster Club dinner pick-up is today in the Commons parking lot from 4:30-6:30 pm just drive through and your meals will be brought out to your car and as an added bonus spirit wear will be sold by the weight room at the same time.

LLCC is sponsoring online FAFSA events for our high school seniors. Step by step presentations by LLCC’s Financial Aid Office on how to complete the FAFSA with opportunities to meet with Financial Aid representatives and Q/A at the conclusion of the presentation.  This presentation is recommended for High School Seniors/parents new to completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Come connect with other SHS students and share common experiences by attending a weekly Support Group. Students, please remember to complete the SAEBRS screener that was assigned to you in your 1st Hour class on Tuesday. If you were absent, refer to the email that was sent Monday October 12th from Principal Leardi which includes a link to the survey, along with your username and password. If you have questions, please visit the SHS Student Support course on Canvas. 

The girls golf team ended their season by finishing 6th at the IHSA Sectional Tournament yesterday at the U of I Orange Course.  Sophomore Katie Chen led the team with an 87.  Senior Katie Milhiser shot a 90, junior Kayla Adkins a 91, and sophomore Sidney Miller a 94 to round out the Senator scoring.  Mr. Adkins would like to thank all team members for an outstanding season.
