Registration for the January 26th PSAT/NMSQT is now open! Please have your student sign up at:  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeUzayh7ajtaqFYh4tbxV9QNmIy4Q59ue6TUsMmAK2hMK6HLA/viewform?usp=sf_link  

The PSAT/NMSQT is the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.  This test will be given at SHS and CDC guidelines will be followed, including maintaining social distancing and the wearing of masks.  The due date to sign up is November 30th.The cost of this test is $18 and this fee must be paid in the Guidance Office by November 30th or your test will not be ordered! Checks or cash can be dropped off in the Guidance Office.  Or, you can mail a check to SHS: Attn NMSQT. Please include a student name with the testing fee.

Hey Senators! Did you notice the new class in your Canvas dashboard? It’s lunchtime tutoring, or the Academic Center! If you need help with any assignment or don’t understand something, click on the Academic Center for directions on how to meet with Mr. Hull during your lunch hour. 

The SHS Booster Club is hosting an online trivia night on Friday, November 13th! Students, friends, and families can form teams to play and have some remote fun! Click on the banner on the SHS web site for more information.

Come connect with other SHS students and share common experiences by attending a weekly Support Group. These will take place on Mondays and will be led by Mrs. AbuSaba and Mrs. Troppa via Zoom at 1:30 & 2:30.  If you are interested, please click on the right hand side box on the SHS home page, or go to the Feeling Stressed? banner sign up.
 
The cross country team competed in the regional meet on Saturday at Jacksonville community park.  The girls team finished 3rd and advance to the sectional meet. Maddie Kim was the top finisher for SHS in seventh place.  The boys team finished 3rd and advance to the sectional meet. Ethan Sommers was the top finisher for SHS in fifth place.
 
It’s time to change the batteries in your household smoke detectors. Teachers in Zoom breakout rooms have observed the sound that indicates that the batteries in some of your home smoke detectors need to be be replaced with new ones.  Stay safe SHS!
 
Reminder don’t forget to change those clocks back one hour Saturday night, October 31.
