Students that ride bus 92 will ride bus 50 until further notice.

Students, please remember to mark your attendance on the intranet on all of your asynchronous days.  Even if you have a zoom with teachers on those days, you must mark your own attendance! 

After School Tutoring is available from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.   Students can access tutoring by clicking on the Academic Center located in Canvas.

Students, if you would like to connect with your peers and share common experiences, please attend one of our Support Groups. They will be offered again this semester on Monday afternoons. Please visit SHS Student Support on Canvas to sign up or click on the link on the SHS home page. 

Seniors - sign up to apply for a Country Financial scholarship! You can sign up for many others at www.cfll.org - check it out and contact Mr. Kramer or Mrs. Lauer if you have any questions.

The Mu Delta Lambda Charitable foundation and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity have a scholarship available for graduating seniors who will attend a two or four year university next year. Applicants are recommended to have a 2.75 GPA or higher and must submit two letters of recommendation and a one page essay answering the prompt “Discuss an event in your life that you had to overcome to become successful?” Application and essay are due by May 1st. Anyone interested, contact Mr. Kramer or Mrs. Lauer.

The Sangamon CEO Application is open until April 30th.  Current Juniors who are interested in this course should apply. If you have further questions, please contact Mr. Robinson or Mrs. Devlin.

Volleyball will be having workouts today in the old gym. Sophomores, juniors & seniors 2:30-4pm. Freshmen 5-6:30. You will need to bring a new covid permission slip to participate.  Permission slips can be found on the volleyball website or the school website.

National Honor Society is now accepting applications for new Junior and Senior members. A list of eligible applicants is located on each class's Canvas page announcements tab. The lists are also posted outside Mr. Kramer's office (156), Mrs. Taft's room (356), and the Main Office. Applications will be due March 8th. Anyone that is interested in competing for the boys and girls soccer team this year, please email Coach Phillips pmphilly@sps186.org  to get information on the up coming season.

Hybrid students, if you ride the STMD bus, fares will be collected starting March 15th. If you would like to apply for a free transit pass, please stop by 108 to pick up a form. Your parents must fill out all of the form in order for you to qualify.

Looking for some heat, Scholastic Bowl is hosting a Chipotle fundraiser from 4-8 Monday Feb 22 that is sure to heat up your day.

This weeks Championship PE drawing winners are:  Joe Brudnak for A day; Charlie Roberts for B day.  Please see coach Cotner for your championship T-Shirt! 

Football tryouts start over Spring Break on March 3rd. In order to tryout you must have a current sports physical, a signed permission slip, and a completed athletic card. You can pick up your athletic card from Coach Gully’s in room 124.

Students, please remember to complete the SAEBRS screener that was assigned to you in your 1st Hour class on Tuesday or Wednesday. If you were absent, refer to the email that was sent Monday February 15th from Principal Leardi which includes a link to the survey, along with your username and password. If you have questions, please visit the SHS Student Support course on Canvas.

The Lady Senator basketball team continued their winning streak on Wednesday night by beating Jacksonville 62 to 25. SHS was led in scoring by Kenzey Decker with 20 points, Chloe Byrd added 12 and Kaleah Toran chipped in with 10. Kenzey Decker scored her 1000th point by making a FT in the 2nd quarter. Next up is a game at Lanphier on Friday.

Congratulations to the boys basketball team for their 60 to 36 win over Jacksonville last night. The team improved to 7 wins and no losses on the season. Mitchell Logan led the team in scoring with 22 points while Bennie Slater added 16. The team hosts Lanphier on Friday in a battle for the conference lead.

In the sophomore game, Jack Swaney led the team with 18 points while Griffin Burk added 13. The team was behind by 15 points to start the 4th period, but came all the way back to win by 4.
