Hey Juniors and Seniors - you will have the option to take the SAT here at SHS on April 13th. Your parents already received an email about it. You do not have to take the SAT, but we will be sending you sign up info soon so we have the correct numbers and tests on that day. Talk to Kramer, Lauer, Robinson or Leardi with any questions - or ask any teacher how that’s going to work. We will be using the whole building that day so no-one but testers will come to school on that Tuesday and Wednesday. Ask any of your teachers what I mean, or talk to your parents.
All SHS Students: You received an email announcement about watching a bus safety video. Your Canvas has the Youtube link to view the video. Even if you don’t ride a yellow school bus, please view it in the name of safety and preparation. Your 5th hour teacher will give you reminders and time in the next two weeks. Thank you!!
After School Tutoring is available from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Students can access tutoring by clicking on the Academic Center located in Canvas.
The Mu Delta Lambda Charitable foundation and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity have a scholarship available for graduating seniors who will attend a two or four year university next year. Applicants are recommended to have a 2.75 GPA or higher and must submit two letters of recommendation and a one page essay answering the prompt “Discuss an event in your life that you had to overcome to become successful?” Application and essay are due by May 1st. Anyone interested, contact Mr. Kramer or Mrs. Lauer.
Boys and Girls track and field season begins on Monday April 5th. Please email Coach Cotner or Coach Hale if you have not attended any pre-season workouts, but plan to come out for the team on April 5th. You must have an athletic permit card on file and an up to date physical to participate. If you have any questions, email Coach Cotner or Coach Hale.
From Franklin Middle School: Mrs. Meghan Anselm (formerly Mrs. Withers), was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Please join the Franklin Falcons in showing our support for Meghan. Team Anselm bundles are available for $25.00 and include a t-shirt, wristband, and vinyl sticker. T-shirts and wristband are also available for individual purchase.
