After School Tutoring is available from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Students can access tutoring by clicking on the Academic Center located in Canvas.
The Mu Delta Lambda Charitable foundation and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity have a scholarship available for graduating seniors who will attend a two or four year university next year. Applicants are recommended to have a 2.75 GPA or higher and must submit two letters of recommendation and a one page essay answering the prompt “Discuss an event in your life that you had to overcome to become successful?” Application and essay are due by May 1st. Anyone interested, contact Mr. Kramer or Mrs. Lauer.
The Board of Education invites interested incoming high school seniors to apply to become the 2021-2022 Student Board Member. One incoming senior will be chosen to serve during the upcoming school year. Applications and additional information can be found by visiting www.sps186.org/about/boe
and clicking on the “Student Board of Education Member Application Information” tab on the left hand side of the page. Applications are being accepted through 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021.

Tryouts for the 2021-2022 SHS Cheerleading squads are approaching. Tryout packets can be picked up from the main office or from Coach Johnson in room 168. The tryout process will begin with a mandatory tryout meeting Wednesday, May 5th at 6:00 pm in the SHS Commons. This is a MANDATORY informational meeting for parents and candidates. Any questions please see Coach Johnson. The information is also available on the SHS cheerleading website.
Mrs. Devlin has had several businesses contact her wanting to hire SHS students. A flyer with business names is posted on the job board across from room 120, stop and pick one up if you are looking for a job.

The baseball team played and won another fun one against Glenwood by the score of 6 to 1. Richie Snider picked up the win pitching with relief help from Marc Black, as they combined to allow only 5 hits while striking out 8 and allowing only one run. Luke Flesner paced the offense with 3 hits and 3 RBI's, while Kaleb Rogers also contributed 2 hits including a double to go with doubles by Ben Hartl and Case Sparks. Next up is Jacksonville on Friday at 4:30 at Lanphier Park.
