The baseball team gave one of their best efforts of the season, but came up short against another state power in SHG by a 5 to 4 score. It was a great game throughout going into the last inning tied at 4, but things went the way of the Cyclones in the end. The offense was led by Adam Passmore with 2 hits and an RBI, in addition to 2 hits by lead-off man Luke Flesner. Passmore also threw 3 strong innings of relief on the mound and Flesner worked a miracle in getting the Solons out of 6th inning trouble. The defense was also solid in committing no errors. Next up is the final regular season game today at 4:15 at Robin Roberts Stadium against East Peoria.
The Springfield High School Boys Tennis Team swept Glenwood High School in dominating fashion Tuesday, winning 9-0. In singles, David Jiang, Brian Becker, Noah Williams, David Lu, Zeke Cross and Ethan Stott claimed victories while the doubles teams of Brian Becker/David Jiang, Zeke Cross/Ethan Stott and David Lu/Noah Williams also were victorious. Congratulations to the varsity boys tennis team as they close out another successful, winning regular season!
