Good morning Springfield High! Today is January 13, 2022

Current 8th Graders and their parents are invited to Preview Night tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the SHS Schnirring Auditorium. This is the night to see the school, meet staff, and learn about classes for freshmen year! See you Thursday!

After school tutoring is available for any SHS student on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-4:30 in room 160. Tutoring is provided by SHS teachers and students can come in for support in any subject. Lunch time tutoring is also available every day during either lunch shift in room 120.

Get ready for some TRIVIA! The Booster Club is hosting a Trivia Night on Saturday, January 29, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the Commons. Teams of 6 need a captain to go to:  www.shstrivia.com  Then click Team Registration at the top! Get your friends and family together for a night of fun at SHS!

There will be a Poetry Out Loud informational meeting after school today in room 366. If you can’t make this, check in with Mrs. Eaton for info.

There will be a GSA meeting tomorrow after school in Mrs. Eaton’s room. Bring a friend and hang out. 

National Honor Society is now accepting applications for new Junior and Senior members. A list of eligible applicants is located on each class's Canvas page announcements tab. The lists are also posted outside Mr. Kramer's office (153A), Mrs. Taft's room (356), and the Main Office. Applications will be due February 24th. Any questions please reach out to Mr. Kramer (bkramer@sps186.org) or Mrs. Taft (mtaft@sps186.org).

There will be an informational meeting about the upcoming boys and girls track and field season after school on Tuesday January 18th in Mr. Deatherage’s room. Practice officially begins on Monday January 24th! It should only last about 10 minutes.  If you have any questions see Coach Cotner. 

Themes for City Tournament Spirit Week Tuesday, January 18th through Friday, January 21.  Tuesday, 1/18 will be Alphabet Day - Dress up as something that starts with the first letter of your name.  Wednesday, 1/19 - Swolon/Workout Day - Wear your workout gear.  Thursday, 1/20 - Olympics/USA Day - Dress up as an Olympic athlete or as a fan at the Olympics in USA gear.  Friday - Formal Friday - Wear the fun and fancy outfit that you don’t get to wear often.
