Camp College

Camp College is a FREE 4-day, 3-night program designed for rising seniors (juniors entering their senior year). Students will be exposed to a variety of college-related topics and learn first-hand from college admissions professionals and high school counselors. Campers will gain valuable skills and tools they can use to enhance their own college search, application, financing, and selection process. 
This year students will visit Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, University of Missouri - Saint Louis, and Blackburn College.

Commonwealth Honors Academy

In June “rising seniors” from Kentucky and Murray State’s service region will join an outstanding team of administrators, teachers, and resident counselors for three weeks in an interdisciplinary living-learning environment on the Murray State campus.

Applicants must be juniors and should have:

            • a 3.5 GPA (on a four-point scale) and

            • an ACT score of 25 (or the equivalent PSAT/SAT score).

Students receive:


• An additional 6 hours of free classes during their senior year of high school.

• A $2000 per year housing scholarship at Murray State

The only cost is a one-time $195 tuition-processing fee (waived if the student receives free or reduced student lunch or an ACT fee waiver).

The dates of the program are June 9-30, 2018.  The deadline for student applications is March 1.  Additional information and student applications are available on-line at:      http://www.murraystate.edu/cha

The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing is consistently ranked in the top quartile for nursing schools nationally and is ranked #8 in research funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The UIC College of Nursing is accredited through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

UIC Nursing has partnered with the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) and Memorial Health Systems to offer students an opportunity to earn a UIC Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree on the Springfield campus.

The addition of the Springfield regional campus further expands the presence of the UIC College of Nursing statewide. “The Springfield partnership – between a national and internally respected nursing college, a health system with two Magnet-designated hospitals, and a university whose Capital Scholars honors program is recognized for generating incredible leaders – will produce academically strong, critically thinking nurses, practitioners and midwives that will meet the health care needs of the people of throughout Illinois,” says Dean Terri E.
