Greetings Southern View Families!
Beginning Wednesday 10/14, students at Southern View in 2nd through 5th grade will take the SAEBRS (Social, Academic, Emotional Behavior Risk Screener). The SAEBRS screener is a brief and effective tool for universal screening of students at risk for social-emotional and behavioral problems. Attached is a letter explaining the SAEBRS screener.
Students at Southern View will also take the NWEA MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) assessment on Monday, 10/19 and Monday 10/26. The MAP assessment is not a high stakes assessment. The MAP assessment is an assessment used district wide in kindergarten through 12th grade, and it simply measures what students know and are ready to learn. As a result, teachers are able to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of our students. Attached is a parent letter regarding the MAP assessment.
Please join me for a zoom parent meeting to discuss the SAEBRS, MAP assessment, attendance, and zoom etiquette on Tuesday, 10/13 at 6 pm. A follow up zoom meeting will take place on Wednesday, 10/14 at 4:30 pm to support our families who speak a language other than English. Please check your email for the zoom link.
