First Grade	• Demonstrate use of right and left hand differentiation • Identify letters and numbers on keyboard • Locate homerow keys and identify proper hand placement • Understand correct keyboarding posture and hand positions
Second Grade	• Show proficiency of homerow keys • Understand correct keyboard finger movement • Learn location of letters on upper and lower rows of the keyboard • Demonstrate correct keyboarding posture and hand position
Third Grade	• Master correct keyboard finger movement • Master location of letters on upper and lower rows of the keyboard • Demonstrate correct keyboarding posture and hand position • Type accurately from printed text and dictation • Demonstrate correct finger positioning of punctuation keys (period, comma, and question mark) • Demonstrate correct use of function keys (space bar, enter key, shift key, and tab)
Fourth - Sixth Grade	• Demonstrate correct keyboarding posture and finger placement • Maintain focus on copy • Type accurately from printed text and dictation using correct technique • Create content at the keyboard
