  1. Congratulations to all band and choir students who participated in the All City Musical last night. The show was awesome and all participating students did a fantastic job. Congratulations to the participants and Mr. Orr for preparing the students to perform.




  2. There is 7th grade tutoring tomorrow after school in room 208.




  3. Attention 8th grade students…. If you would like to apply for the Lincoln Land Community College Scholarship Waiver please stop by the guidance office to pick up an application. This application is due April 30, 2018 by the end of the school day in the guidance office.




  4. Starting this week, all district schools will participate in the Sangamon County Kids Bicentennial Penny Drive Campaign. School including WMS will be collecting pennies and other monetary donations in their classrooms to bring back important piece of Illinois History for the bicentennial birthday bash. Participating schools will have an opportunity to win prizes and a chance to have a historical Lincoln document displayed in their school. Students here at WMS the grade level that brings in the most pennies during the drive, will receive a free jeans day for their class.




  5. Lanphier tennis coaches are looking to find 8th grade girls attending Lanphier next year get ready for tennis. The coaches will be holding camps here at WMS starting next week. Camps will start next Monday after school from 2:30 until 3:45.




  6. A reminder students: Cell phones, earbuds, and earphones should not be visible during the school day. For further information on cell phone use and electronics at school, please see page 9 in you student agenda.




  7. Also, students are reminded to have a book with them at all times. Students should be reading when not participating in class activities. The library has many new books. Be sure to get one today. Reading is fundamental.




  8. Girls Throwers we will be practicing from three to four.  You must have your ride at 4.




  9. Attention Warriors this is your Warrior Wake up Call!  Did you know that Overweight adolescents have a 70% chance of becoming overweight or obese adult.  What can you do to stem the tide of this epidemic.
