  • The Gay, Straight, Alliance Club will meet after school tonight in room 114.  It will be a movie night so feel free to bring a snack and a drink.  

  • The Olympics continue!  Watch tonight at 7p for the luge competion, men’s snowboarding and women’s hockey. The U.S. has now won  3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medal.  How did these athletes get here?  They persevere!  What do you need to persevere in doing to succeed?  Come to the library and check out the Olympic sports section.

  • The Washington Warrior Archery Team meets tonight in the library after school.  We will compete for score.  

  • The Illinois Rebecca Caudill Award nominees are out!  The Rebecca Caudill Award will be given in Illinois to the nominees that get the most teen reader votes for their book. You will receive a voting ballot by reading any three of the nominee novels that you choose. Come to the library and check out this section today.  Talk to your Language Arts teacher about the competition.  Read!  Your vote counts!

  • Today’s Black History BINGO question is: This Nobel Prize and Pulitzer Prize winning author earned a Master’s Degree from Howard University. She is famous for many fiction novels, but Song of Soloman set her career in motion. The answer is Toni Morrison. If you have Toni Morrison on your BINGO card, be sure to mark it off and date the square.
