2019-2020 Second Quarter Mid-term Approaching!

Time is flying by! Second Quarter mid-term is almost here! Please make sure you are checking your student's grades and encouraging them to turn in assignments that they may be missing.  We do binder checks and grade checks weekly in Resource but extra reminders from home would help.  We also do a grade check during Advisory each Friday where students write down their grades.  A parent signature is required on that sheet and students can return their sheet in lobby for a weekly drawing to win a prize!

6th Grade Homework Help (Tutoring) Available

Sixth grade is offering tutoring to any student who would like to attend.  Tutoring will be held by Ms. Wright and Ms. Beckler this year and is immediately after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Students should come prepared and be ready to work with all supplies. There will be an activitiy bus available for rides home.  A snack will be provided.  Hope to see you there!

Off to a Great Start!!!

The 2019-2020 school year is off to a great start!!! Students have transitioned well and we are in full swing.  Resource class is working on learning skills and homework help. We have started a whole class book called, James and the Giant Peach, practicing our writing, comprehension, and oral fluency.  Wednesday is Math homework help day but we have been reinforcing Math skills with extra practice that goes along with the Math targets for this unit.  The students love this exciting book and it will also help them to earn AR points as well!!!!

Million Word Club!

The WMS "Million Word Club" is up and running. Students who read a million words are honored with a free t-shirt that they can wear with jeans every Friday. They are also invited to nice luncheon at the end of the year with our local Rotary Club.  Good luck students, keep reading!!!!!

Accelerated Reader

Independent reading is a requirement for students. Each student is required to read a minimum of thirty minutes, five times a week. Please help your child become a better reader by making sure they read within their ZPD for the recommended time. Students are expected to take and pass AR tests to meet their individual goal. The only way to do this is to READ!!!!!
