Create A Face With Food or Containers Holding Food (All Grades; Regular Education, Special Education, & Special Needs)

May 18, 2020

FOOD FUN for everyone (with parent permission). May make your face on the kitchen counter, a table, or the floor. It may be big or small in overall size.  It becomes a 3-Dimensional Relief as it is raised up off the floor, counter, or table. The art element of SPACE will be used. Notice how the food or the containers of food become the positive space; the negative space is the blank area around your items.

EXAMPLE:

>  Two cans of tuna for eye glasses with grapes connecting the cans and for going out the side to the ears.

>  A cucumber for a nose.

>  Apples for a mouth.

>  Banannas for hair.

>  Broccoli for ears.

YOU MAY USE WHATEVER FOOD OR FOOD CONTAINERS THAT YOU WISH TO USE. HAVE FUN AND BE CREATIVE!

After you have finished, you may take a cell phone picture of the face you created or make a quick sketch of it if you would like. Show someone you love! Food Art Projects are always fun and so yummy.

Remember to clean up! Then you need to take time and ponder over what you created. (This is the responds and connects you see on your report card). Some questions you may ask yourself are:  What was the coolest part? What else could you have use that would have been fun? Name one thing you learned. Did you use any foods that are your personal favorites to eat?

When you help your family cook now, will this project make you look at food differently? Yummmm. Makes me want to have a snack of smiley, curvy lined snacks...
