Read 5 and Beyond and Math Mania
These are two excellent tools found at the right of my website that students can use to log when/what/how long they read for as well as what math activity they are using everyday.
This website is also a free and easy way to explore science that students encounter everday.
This is another reading resource that is excellent for young readers and can translate books into 43 different languages.
These two website will help students take a pre-test on what reading skills they need to work on and will give books on their levels that build upon these skills.
Reading IQ is more for students to build on fluency.
ABCmouse is for students to enhance decoding skills to understand words.

Welcome to room 114, otherwise known as Miss. B’s 3-5 cross-categorical class. My full name is Laura Brenneisen and this is my third year teaching and I am so excited to learn from you child. We may be small, but we will make huge strides academically and socially.
A little background about myself is that I come from a big family. I have 6 siblings, two in-laws, and three adorable nephews. I am a huge family person and I spend time with them any time I can (when I’m not in the classroom). I graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelors of Science degree in education where I am certified to teach grades K-9. I have also received endorsements in middle school science and special education. Even though it will be my second year, I have a lot of knowledge and experience being in a classroom. I have spent over 400 hours in a classroom with certified teachers and they have taught me a lot.
One of the most important things I have learned is communication is key. I respond quicker to email. All I ask is that you say who’s parent/guardian you are so I can respond appropriately. I am looking forward to a new and exciting year!
