This is a good time to look at Mars in the early evening sky. It is at opposition to the Sun and is high in the sky to the East. In the area you will also see Orion, Canis Major, Gemini and Taurus among other constellations. Bright stars in that direction include Sirius, Procyon, Castor, Pollux, Betelgeuse, Rigel and Aldebaran. Well worth the time.
