Pre-Algebra: Students turned in yesterday's homework, Get Ready for Topic 4. Several students needed time to complete their Topic 3 Test. The homework is Fluency Practice for Topic 4. It is due on Monday, December 2. See Google Classroom for homework hints.
U.S. History: We watched a Flocabulary video on Thanksgiving. Students wrote something they were thankful for on a post-it note and placed it on the board. I read parts of a Newsela article on Thanksgiving. There are very few primary source documents about the first Thanksgiving. I read a letter from Edward Winslow written in 1621. Students colored in the Louisiana Purchase on the U.S. Expansion Map. We ended class by going over the answers to the questions on the Louisiana Purchase. They are due tonight on Google Classroom. Finally, all students have been asked to have a family member tell them a story. There is scientific evidence that there is a psychological benefit to hearing family stories. Thanksgiving seems like the perfect time to share.
