Pre-Algebra: Any students who were absent last Tuesday and/or Wednesday needed time to finish their test for Topic 3. Those same students need to make sure that they turn in the homework assignments that they missed, as well. Fluency Practice for Topic 4 was due today. Any students who had finished the test and their homework started Lesson 4-1: Construct and Interpret Scatter Plots. There is no homework.
U.S. History: We started class talking about the history of the official Thanksgiving holiday. There was an official proclamation by George Washington in 1789. It was actually featured in a recent Scheels ad. Ask you student about it. We also looked at a Thanksgiving Day proclamation from Abraham Lincoln. This was written in the midst of the Civil War when the country was so divided. We looked at recent article in the SJR about an area family who had 2 distant relatives on opposite sides of the first Thanksgiving table made up of Pilgrims and Native Americans. We watched a BrainPop on Lewis and Clark, then took the quiz. There is no homework.
