Tuesday February 3rd, 2026 Topic/Air length | SE Spartan AnnouncementsGood Morning, Southeast students and staff. It's Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026! I’m _____________. Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL, they follow classroom and school-wide expectations, allow for learning throughout the building, and can think critically. And now for a moment of silence to start our day…Thank you. |
ㅡ General Inf0Hey Spartans, if you are ever absent or just want to go back to see announcements because something really cool caught your attention. Go to the Southeast webpage, scroll down and you will see the current announcements. If you want to see older announcements, click on SEE ALL POSTS. From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information. | Mr. Van Houten says- please don't text and drive!!! IT CAN WAIT! Open to families, tickets are sold in the main office. |
ㅡ Clubs/Opportunities | Poetry club will be meeting Friday, February 6th in Mr. Gleesons room (room 118) to go over the workshop planned for February 13th. More info about the workshop is to come. |
ㅡ Sports | It’s not too late to come out for boys track, too. If you are interested we practice everyday after school in the commons. See Coach Ballard with any questions. There will be a meeting for any girl interested in trying out for the softball team, TODAY directly after school in room 215. Please plan to attend the brief meeting if you are interested. If you can’t make it, please speak with Coach Porter. Last week, we celebrated big CS8 conference wins from Lady Spartan Basketball over MacArthur and the Boys Basketball win over Glenwood! Here's what is coming up: Today, February 3 - BBB vs. Jacksonville (CS8 Fall All-Conference Recognition), 5:30 PM (JV) & 7:00 PM (Varsity) February 7 - CS8 Swim Meet at Eisenhower Pool, 9 AM Basketball Super Saturday: GBB vs. Jacksonville (Varsity Only) at 11 AM. BBB vs. Belleville West at 2:30 PM (JV) and 4 PM (Varsity). One price gets you in all three games! We will have fun treats on the concessions menu and plenty of giveaways throughout the day. Spring athletes must have an up-to-date physical. If you have not participated in another sport this school year, pay the $85 athletic fee (checks made payable to Southeast High School or pay ONLINE) or submit a waiver. All spring athletes should be on their team roster. This allows the athletic office to check academic eligibility and to give parents and students access to Rooms. Download the District 186 app and use your student or parent login to access Rooms to communicate with coaches. Coaches will also post practice and game updates on Rooms. Don't miss out on important announcements. Remember to check the Southeast Athletics webpage for the full sports calendar. |
ㅡ Awards/CelebrationsCoach Hamilton, our boys basketball coach, and Senator Doris Turner have teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things will be offered from this grant money, but one thing everyone enjoyed last year and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone, headphones, and dress code referrals. There is a little bit of a difference this year, instead of being referral free for the WHOLE year, Coach Hamilton wants students to reflect on their referrals, make necessary changes, and get another chance at a gift card. So each month is a fresh start. How do you know if you win? Watch Friday morning announcements. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements and stay referral free each month! |
ㅡ Pledge | Now if you would please Stand for the Pledge… I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America And to the Republic for which it stands One nation, under God Indivisible with liberty and justice for all |
