SE Spartan Announcements

Good Morning, Southeast students and staff. It's Thursday, March 26th, 2026! I’m _____________.

Remember that successful Spartans ARE RESPECTFUL, they follow classroom and school-wide expectations, allow for learning throughout the building, and can think critically.

And now for a moment of silence to start our day…Thank you.

General Inf0

Hey Spartans, if you are ever absent or just want to go back to see announcements because something really cool caught your attention.

Go to the Southeast webpage, scroll down and you will see the current announcements. If you want to see older announcements, click on SEE ALL POSTS.

From there you can click on any date, and either view the video, or quickly read through the printed copy to find practice times, club announcements, or just general information.

Students!! I know that the weather is nice out, but please remember to stay in dress code. We still need to come to school with long enough shorts/skirts (mid thigh) and shirts that cover our chest and belly. You will be asked to change if you are not in dress code, and we have limited clothing options available in the student office.

Hey ladies! We have a bunch of BRAND NEW(with the tags) prom dresses that are free or $25. We want anyone and everyone who needs a prom dress to reach out to Ms. Sellars in the guidance office if you are interested. We have a couple dates open to look through the dresses - April 1st after school until 3:30pm, and we also have a Saturday date April 11th time to be announced later.

The Springfield Public Schools’ Board of Education invites interested incoming high school seniors to apply to become the 2026-2027 Student Representative to the Board of Education. One incoming senior will be chosen to serve as the Student Representative during the upcoming school year. Additional information and the application can be found on our canvas dashboard. (https://forms.gle/Kh1aKBbeoE7gvwXi8). The submission deadline is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Seniors-If you are on track to graduate and plan to walk at graduation, you will need to get your cap and gown ordered as soon as possible.  You can go to Jostens.com and place your order.  Caps and gowns will be delivered and distributed to students on Wednesday, April 22.  You will need them for Senior Recognition, too!  If you have questions about ordering, please stop in Guidance!

Clubs/Opportunities

Attention Key Club! We will be having our next meeting on Tuesday, March 31st at 3:25pm in Mrs. Wilkinson’s room.  We will have a guest speaker, introduce the new officers, and have a volunteer after meeting activity.  It’s not too late to join! If you like to volunteer or help others, come to the meeting on Tuesday.

Poetry club will be meeting this Friday in room 118. We will be doing magnetic poetry. Ask Mr. Gleeson or Mrs. Collins if you have any questions.

Sports

E-Sports Coach, Mr. Clinton would like to congratulate Carter N. from Lanphier for taking 3rd place in 2K26 State Tournament, and Lanphier's Kamarion V. for taking 2nd place in state for Madden 26. Let's not get rusty! If you would like to participate in open practices and friendly tournaments all the way up to the start of next season, grab your friends and go see Coach Clinton. As long as your friends go to Southeast, Lanphier, or Springfield you are all welcome to join the E-Sports team practices until try outs! That goes for Madden, 2K, and FC!

Remember to check the Southeast Athletics webpage for the full sports calendar.

Awards/Celebrations

Coach Hamilton, our boys basketball coach, and Senator Doris Turner have teamed up to promote non violence in schools. Many things will be offered from this grant money, but one thing everyone enjoyed last year and could participate in was Gift Card Giveaway Friday. All you have to do is be referral free, that includes cell phone, headphones, and dress code referrals. There is a little bit of a difference this year, instead of being referral free for the WHOLE year, Coach Hamilton wants students to reflect on their referrals, make necessary changes, and get another chance at a gift card. So each month is a fresh start. How do you know if you win? Watch Friday morning announcements. The wheel will spin and name 3 big winners of $50 gift cards to be claimed in the student office. So check those Friday morning announcements and stay referral free each month!

Shout out to a couple girls track members for qualifying for Illinois Top Times! Congrats Alannah Lowery for qualifying for long and triple jump, and Sydney Williams for qualifying for high jump. Way to go ladies!
