  • After School Tutoring is offered Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  in Room 214

  • Senators show kindness through their actions. Whether it’s holding the door for a stranger or giving a Kind Card to someone, even the smallest acts of kindness can be a rewarding experience for both the giver and the receiver.  Plus your act of kindness may inspire others to do the same which creates a more caring and positive community.  Have a great week from Be A Senator.

  • If you lost a key in the student section at the game Friday evening. See Mr Kramer.

  • Attention artists and graphic designers: The SHS PTO is looking for a new logo, and any SHS student can submit a drawing or graphic that represents parents, teachers and our school. Use your imagination and submit your design by October 27th. Think of this logo as one that could go on letterhead or on a tablecloth or poster. Submit your design to Mrs. Dorr or Dr. Leardi, and see either of them if you have questions. If your design is chosen, you will receive $75 in gift cards and a framed copy of your design.

  • Mr. Kramer will be taking a group on campus tours of both University of Missouri St. Louis and SIU-Edwardsville on November 4th. Students will miss the whole day and leave at 7 AM. More info can be found on canvas announcements. This trip is for juniors and seniors only. Permission slips are in the Guidance office and due back to Mr. Kramer by October 20th.

In the Freshman/sophomore boys division, Felix Vanmetre ran to a 15th place finish to lead the boys to 9th place overall.  In the varsity boys division, Ben Walden and Alex Ratz were medal winners ins 21st and 29th place to lead the boys to a 8th place finish.  The teams next compete at the Central State Eight championships on Saturday at Lincoln Park.  The girls race is at 10 am and the boys race is at 11.

  • The JV football team lost a thriller 46-40 to SHG to take their first loss of the season. Springfield led going in to half 28-27. Richawn Crawford and Tyree Sullivan had both rushed for a TD and Andrew Benning threw touchdowns to Sullivan and DeAnthony Brown. In the second half Sullivan added two more TDs on a screen pass and a long 75 yard TD catch. Sullivan ended with almost 150 receiving yards and four total TDs. Benning finished with three touchdown passes. Jacob Greco snagged an interception to set up one of the touchdown drives. But in the end, the bad guys made enough plays to come away with victory. But, still in the darkness of defeat, there is always light. Matt Murphy made it a perfect 6 for 6 on coin tosses on the year and like a lighthouse in a storm guided the Senators through the storm by showing the way. Matt Murphy doesn’t lose.
