  • After School Tutoring is offered Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.  in Room 214

  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the  Peace Room is  open and available to students for support in the Guidance Office-8:30-9am and 11:30-2pm. 

  • Students, if you were absent yesterday, please complete your SAEBRS assessment today. Your 1st hour teacher should have your username that you need to access the screener. Please see Mrs. Troppa in 106 if you have any questions.

  • Capital Area Career Center (CACC) is hosting an Open House on Thursday, January 29th, from 5-7 PM.  The Capital Area Career Center is located at 2201 Toronto Rd, Springfield, IL 62712. This is a great opportunity for Sophomores, Juniors, and their parents to tour the labs, meet the teachers,  and talk with current students

  • Springfield High is beginning prep on their Black History Month celebrations. If you would be interested in representing SHS in our History Bowl competition against the other schools or want to be involved in planning and execution of our BHM school assembly, see Mr Kramer or send him an email!

  • Be A Senator will meet in the cafeteria after school on Thursday. All students are welcome to attend.

  • SKY Club! will have a meeting Wednesday 1/28 after school in the Peace Room. Any student may attend, just show up and check it out. During SKY Club meetings, you will learn techniques to help with relaxation, mindfulness, and stress management. 

  • Here is a breathing technique you can practice now.........Breathe in through your nose for 4 seconds, then hold for 4 seconds.....Breathe out through your mouth for 4 seconds, then hold for 4 seconds. Repeat until you feel your body start to relax.

  • There will be a softball open gym Wednesday, January 28th at LHS from 7 - 8:30PM. You can enter through the gym entrance in the parking lot off North Grand, where a coach will be there to let people in. 

  • This Thursday girls wrestling will be having their senior night at a home duel hosted at Lanphier high school. This is the first official girls only home duel in the program's history. Please come support the ladies and wear your blue and pink! Wrestling begins around 6pm

  • The boys swimming and diving team dominated the city swim meet last night by winning with 170 points to SHG’s 46 points and southeast 20 points.  The boys took first in every race.  Alex Myers took first in the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke, Jake Tolsdorf took first in the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly, Oliver Havey took first in the 50 free and 100 free, Gavin Rachford took first in the 500 freestyle.  Andrew Kotner took first in diving, Riley Herr took first in the 100 breaststroke.  Jake Tolsdorf, Kishan Ugrappa, Riley Herr and Oliver Havey took first in the 200 medley relay.  Oliver Havey, Riley Herr, Alex Myers and Kishan Ugrappa took first in the 200 free relay.  Jake Tolsdorf, Alex Myers, Luke Milliman and Gavin Rachford took first in the 400 freestyle relay.  Congratulations on a great meet.
