• Good morning, Springfield High! Today is Tuesday , February 10th

  • This week we will have tutoring after school on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-4:30 in room 214. Again, just Tuesday and Thursday for tutoring.

  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the  Peace Room is  open and available to students for support in the Guidance Office-8:30-9am and 11:30-2pm. 

  • Senators practice self-care by connecting with others.  To establish these connections, spend quality time with friends and family, participate in school clubs or teams, or join community groups.  Building these social connections is a great way to reduce stress and prevent loneliness.   For more tips, be sure to visit the BAS table outside the commons on Wednesday!

  • Students traveling to Chicago on Tuesday the bus will leave at 6:45 from Washington St.

  • Scholastic bowl played their last regular season tournament in Granite City and placed first knocking off New Berlin and Carbondale. Four senator made the all tournament team Vanshika Gunda, Anvi Agarwal, Braydon Meyer, and Sebastian Moore.

  • The Minority Vision and Action club will be grilling hot dogs tomorrow outside the Commons to help support our Black History Month funds. Please plan to get lunch with $1 hotdogs!.

  • Support the yearbook, while showing your Valentine spirit. Carnations will be on sale starting today for $2 during both lunch shifts and delivered on 2/13. 

  • Plant Club will meet on Today from 3:20-4:00 in Ms. Reinders room, 516.  Join us if you can, everyone is welcome

  • Juniors and Seniors - if you are interested in working the local election on March 17th, 2026, you can apply by picking up a flyer from Mr. Lightfoot in room 224. When you fill out the form, you must have it signed by your parent and an administrator, plus have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be available to work from 6am - 7pm that day. You will be paid for the day! See Mr. Lightfoot with questions.

  • The Springfield Chamber of Commerce is hosting a youth job fair on March 3rd. The event will have employers looking for summer and part time workers and the opportunity to be apply, interview, and be hired on the spot! We will take a bus that will leave at 11:45 and return at 2:00 PM. If you are interested, you must be 16 years old by summer, permission slips are in the Guidance Office and due to Mr. Kramer in 153A by Friday, February 20. 

  • Girls soccer will have an informational meeting on Thursday 2/12 right after school in the Library.

  • February means it is Sadie's month! The annual Sadie Hawkins Dance will be held on Saturday, February 21. Tickets will be $10 a person. Come out for a fun and laid back dance, the last of the year for all students! We will also be having our next Solon Olympics that week to help celebrate the week! If you are bringing a guest, you must pick up a form in the guidance office later today and have it filled out completely and then turn in on Thursday, February 21st. We do not accept late forms, so please make sure you get it done!

  • "¡Hola, todos! The Spanish Club will be meeting this Wednesday, February 11th, after school in Señor Reichert's room - Room 260 -  for a Movie Day!

We’ll be gathering to watch “Encanto," enjoy some snacks, and hang out with friends. If you haven’t joined yet, it’s not too late! We hope you can come and be part of the fun. Gracias!”

  • Reminder to juniors and seniors who are eligible to apply for NHS. Lists of those eligible are posted on Canvas, outside the Main Office, and outside the library. The application is due February 19, please pick up the application ASAP to give yourself as much time as you need to complete. 

  • Attention Baseball Players- If you are planning to try out for baseball next month there will be a short ten minute meeting in the auditorium after school on Today. That's a baseball meeting on Tuesday in the auditorium. See Coach Dorr in room 216 if you are unable to attend.  

  • Guten Tag! The German Club will be meeting Thursday, February 12 in room 260 until 4:15. Join us for a fun German Blooket and snacks! We hope to see you there, if you have any questions see Annah Sharp.

  • We did it again! The Springfield Girls Wrestling team are regional champs. Could we set up a morning announcement for them please.
