  • Opening yourself up to new experiences can give you a sense of belonging and can even lead to new friendships.  Consider joining clubs, teams or activities at SHS to find students who share a common interest. Attending sporting events, plays, dances, and other school events and activities can help you to meet people and make new friends. Don’t forget to show up with a smile and a friendly attitude!   • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the  Peace Room is  open and available to students for support in the Guidance Office-8:30-9am and 11:30-2pm.  

  • Tutoring is available for all students.  Normal tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays continues from 3:30-4:30 in room 160.  In addition, tutoring is also now available on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30 in room 114..

  • To any student who is involved in the Assassins game, this is a reminder that you may not have any activity on school grounds or during school times or anything related to the game during the school day. Please know we are concerned for your safety and need you to make good decisions. Please see Leardi or Adeniji with questions.

  • SHS invites future Senators to our Spring Activities Night on Wednesday, April 22nd at 6:00 p.m. in the Commons. This is an informal event where students can learn about sports, clubs and activities available to them next year.  Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and enter off Lewis Street.

  • Prom guest forms are available in the guidance office for juniors and seniors who are bringing an outside guest on May 2. Guests must have a current picture ID to be admitted, be at least 9th grade and under 21 years old. Guest forms must be filled out entirely and then turned in for approval before 3:30 pm on April 30th. This form is also required for guests attending after prom.

  • Atención Spanish Club, please join us to go bowling on the 23rd of April. If you are interested, please bring your $ 5 deposit to Señor Reichert to reserve your spot. You can also see Janvi Patel or Valentina Osgood for more information. Gracias, and we hope to see you there

  • Attention anyone interested in becoming a Springfield High School Cheerleader for the 2026-2027 school year: There will be a mandatory informational meeting on Friday, April 24th at 5:00 pm in the SHS library. Interested candidates should attend with a parent or guardian. Please contact Mrs. Walls with questions.

  • Celebrate spring and your senior with a purchase of SHS's 25-26 yearbook and a senior ad at yearbookforever.com. Deadline to place ads is 5/20. 

  • Attention Senior athletes who have committed, or plan to commit to play a sport at the collegiate level.  Wednesday May 20th will be Signing Day at SHS.  At 3:30 pm we will recognize our athletes who will continue to play in college.  If you are one of these senior athletes, please stop by the main office and pick up an informational form to complete and return.  The forms must be returned to the main office by 3:30 pm on Friday 5/8/26.  See Mr. Barnes with any questions.

  • Springfield Clinic is hosting an open house for high school students who are interested in learning about careers in the health care field. Students are invited to the Springfield Clinic 1st Building at 800 North 1st Street on Wednesday, April 29th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. You can tour the building, visit with different departments, and engage in hand-on activities.   • The African American History Museum is looking for interested high school students who can work at the AAHM Camp this summer. Locations and jobs will be discussed upon interview. You can find the application link below

  • The soccer team defeated Williamsville 7-0. Kamryn Hoffman 3 goals, Kalyn Burton 2 goasl, Bridget Lyons 1 goal and Addie Maddox 1 goal scored for the Senators. Ainsley Lambert 2, Kamryn Hoffman 2, Kalyn Burton, Addie Maddox and Zoe Wall picked up assists. Lydia Auble picked up the shut out while Annabelle Bilyeu, Lucy Ambrose, Simone Dolan and Phoebe Barnes were outstanding defensively.

  • The boys track and field team competed in the Capitol City Classic at Lanphier on Saturday.  The Fresh/Soph Boys finished 2nd overall as a team and the Varsity Boys finished 11th overall out of 23 teams.  Top finishers for SHS were:  Mayango Jallah 2nd in the discus; Trey Sutton 3rd in the fresh/soph discus; Joel Ramirez 3rd in the Varsity high jump; the fresh/soph 4x400 relay team of Kolade Abitogun, Brandon Moody, James Houlihan and Jeremiah Prather finished 3rd.  Event champions were: Trey Sutton in the Fresh/Soph Shot put and the Fresh/Soph 4x800 relay team of Brandon Moody, Felix Vanmetre, Jeremiah Prather and Gavin Rachford.  The boys next compete on Tuesday at the Southeast Hickman invite at Southeast HS.

  • The baseball team had a tough weekend losing to Plains 5 to 1 on Friday and Granite City on Saturday 18 to 7. Highlights for the weekend included a well-pitched complete game by Karter Marks against Plains when he allowed only 2 earned runs while striking out 8 in going the distance. Saturday’s bright spots included Jacob Scheffler’s first varsity home run along with big brother Brody's 2 hits good for 2 RBI’s. Senior Carter Beck also provided a solid relief appearance allowing only one run in 2 and a third innings. The Senators are back in action tomorrow in a 4:30 CS8 contest against Southeast at their place.

  • The Springfield High School Boys Tennis Team competed in the Alton Invitational this past weekend and played extremely well, finishing third and taking home the Sportsmanship Award.  Leading the way, the doubles teams of Jai Khurana/Bennett Nelson and Ian Delcomyn/Charlie Watson each placed second in their respective flights.  Additionally, the doubles team of Mox Amin/Will Eichinger placed fifth while the team of Faaiz Qureshi/Quan Dickirson finished seventh.  Great job by everyone!
