  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the  Peace Room is  open and available to students for support in the Guidance Office-8:30-9am and 11:30-2pm.  

  • Tutoring is available for all students.  Normal tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays continues from 3:30-4:30 in room 160.  In addition, tutoring is also now available on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30 in room 114..

  • To any student who is involved in the Assassins game, this is a reminder that you may not have any activity on school grounds or during school times or anything related to the game during the school day. Please know we are concerned for your safety and need you to make good decisions. Please see Leardi or Adeniji with questions.

  • SHS invites future Senators to our Spring Activities Night on Wednesday, April 22nd at 6:00 p.m. in the Commons. This is an informal event where students can learn about sports, clubs and activities available to them next year.  Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and enter off Lewis Street.

  • Tryouts for the Scarlet Line Dance Team are taking place next week starting Monday-Wednesday April 27-29 from 4:30-6:00pm. Tryout information can be found in the main office!

  • Hey readers! This Thursday, April 23, we will discuss our exhilarating April read, a fairytale retelling called House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig. We will also choose our final book of this year! You don’t have to read the book to join us-- just hang out and talk about books and the joy of reading! The meeting will be in Ms. Negele’s room 312 right after school until 4:30. Can’t wait to see you all!

  • Prom guest forms are available in the guidance office for juniors and seniors who are bringing an outside guest on May 2. Guests must have a current picture ID to be admitted, be at least 9th grade and under 21 years old. Guest forms must be filled out entirely and then turned in for approval before 3:30 pm on April 30th. This form is also required for guests attending after prom.Prom doors close at 8:15 p.m.

SHS juniors and seniors may attend After Prom regardless of whether they attend the Prom dance earlier in the evening.  SHS Administrators will check-in students at the door, where they will be given a wristband.  All Prom dates who do not attend SHS must have the Guest Form submitted in the guidance office to be on the approved list to attend both the dance and After Prom.

After Prom: Entry will only be allowed through the upper level doors until 10:45 p.m.  Any students attempting to enter after 10:45 p.m will NOT be allowed entry!  Clothing at prom and after prom must be school appropriate. Pajamas and slippers are not allowed at either event.

  • Atención Spanish Club, please join us to go bowling on the 23rd of April. If you are interested, please bring your $ 5 deposit to Señor Reichert to reserve your spot. You can also see Janvi Patel or Valentina Osgood for more information. Gracias, and we hope to see you there

  • Attention anyone interested in becoming a Springfield High School Cheerleader for the 2026-2027 school year: There will be a mandatory informational meeting on Friday, April 24th at 5:00 pm in the SHS library. Interested candidates should attend with a parent or guardian. Please contact Mrs. Walls with questions.

  • Celebrate spring and your senior with a purchase of SHS's 25-26 yearbook and a senior ad at yearbookforever.com. Deadline to place ads is 5/20. 

  • Attention Senior athletes who have committed, or plan to commit to play a sport at the collegiate level.  Wednesday May 20th will be Signing Day at SHS.  At 3:30 pm we will recognize our athletes who will continue to play in college.  If you are one of these senior athletes, please stop by the main office and pick up an informational form to complete and return.  The forms must be returned to the main office by 3:30 pm on Friday 5/8/26.  See Mr. Barnes with any questions.

  • Springfield Clinic is hosting an open house for high school students who are interested in learning about careers in the health care field. Students are invited to the Springfield Clinic 1st Building at 800 North 1st Street on Wednesday, April 29th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. You can tour the building, visit with different departments, and engage in hand-on activities.   • The African American History Museum is looking for interested high school students who can work at the AAHM Camp this summer. Locations and jobs will be discussed upon interview. You can find the application link below

  • The softball team dropped a non conference game last night vs Auburn but had many bright spots at the plate. Lanie D got things going in the bottom of the 3rd, hitting a solo home run. Milan Robinson went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Erin Stoops had a double and an RBI. Good job ladies.
