Increase your chances of success by using a planner and designating a specific time every day for homework and studying. All students currently enrolled in a business class this semester, or who have taken a business class before, are invited to join.
Please come to an informational meeting for the new chapter of Springfield High School’s Future Business Leaders of America Business Club on Wednesday, September 16th, after school at 2:30 in Mrs. Cooper’s Room 1307.
Again, FBLA/Business Club is ONLY open to students currently enrolled or who have already taken ANY Business Class.

*PSAT/NMSQT sign-up is now available in the Guidance Office. The PSAT/NMSQT is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for Juniors; however, freshmen and Sophomores can also take the exam. The due date to sign up is October 1st. The cost is $18 and can be paid with cash or check. The test date is Tuesday, October 20th. Any questions? Email Mr. Robinson rrobinson@sps186.org
*Springfield Clinic is hosting their High School Open House event at 800 North 1st Street in Springfield on Wednesday, September 16 from 5:30-7 PM to offer students the opportunity to learn about different career paths through hands-on demos and department tours. *Plant Club will have its first meeting of the year today. We will meet in Ms. Reinders room, 1516 from 3:30-4:30. Everyone is welcome! See Ms. Reinders if you have any questions.
*Debate club will meet in Room 3330 on Thursday until 4:30 p.m. New members are welcome.
*The Chess Club is officially kicking off, and our very first meeting is this Thursday! Whether you want to climb the competitive ladder, learn the basic rules, or just hang out and play casual games with friends, there is a spot at the board for you. No experience is required—we will teach you everything you need to know.
Model UN will meet in Room 3330 on Friday until 4:00 p.m.

*The Springfield High School Girls Tennis Junior Varsity played Sacred Heart-Griffin and Williamsville yesterday and played well. In singles, Cara Luu and Grace Cosenza-Stanley won. At doubles, the team of Sarah Oseland/Khloe Behnke won.
*Congratulations to the girls volleyball team who beat Pekin in straight sets 25-23 25-10.
The Lady Senators are now 11-4 & on a 10-1 streak.
Our next home game is Thursday, the team travels to Decatur MacArthur tonight.
