School-Based Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services
Springfield District 186 is proud to support students, who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, through a team of professionals within the district collaborating with students, families, and the community. The focus of the collaboration is to share important information and provide services to eliminate barriers that can hinder the full engagement of all students.
Focus for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services
The focus of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing team is to increase the engagement and performance of the student within the school community. This includes providing supportive guidance and information to educational staff, families, and students, thus improving student outcomes.

The Illinois Service Resource Center provides behavior support for students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or visually impaired in Illinois. ISRC is a partner of the Illinois MTSS Network (Multi-Tiered System of Support) funded by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Illinois School for the Deaf - http://illinoisdeaf.org/index.html
Illinois School for the Deaf is an integral part of the statewide continuum of services for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Outreach services are free and available to parents, students, and educational personnel who work with children who are deaf/hard of hearing in Illinois. Outreach services include, but are not limited to training, implant support, and parent support.
