LITERACY
Mission: To develop engaged readers, skilled writers, and critical thinkers.
Teachers in Springfield Public School provide a supportive learning environment through direct, explicit instruction followed by differentiated instruction tailored to meet the needs of individual learners. Students in grades K-2 learn essential foundational reading skills, including phonological awareness and phonics skills. Students at all levels learn to extract levels of meaning from the texts they read. They also learn to write meaningful texts in a variety of genres.
