Registration: Log into the District 186 registration portal. Select the option "Click here to register a student for SCOPE or summer SCOPE that is not listed below" and then select "Register for Summer SCOPE." Complete all the fields and then click "Submit" at the end.

Locations: Lindsay School (3600 Fielding) and Wilcox School (2000 Hastings). At this time the Lindsay location has openings for students in kindergarten and first grade only. All new registrations for students in grades 2-5 will be placed at Wilcox.

Dates: Monday, June 3, through Friday, Aug. 9 (SCOPE will be closed for the June 19 and July 4 holidays)

Hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Grades: Students who completed kindergarten through fifth grade during the 2023/24 school year.

Cost: $125 per week / per child. All payments are due on Monday for the week of service. The fee includes the cost of all field trips, breakfast, hot lunch and an afternoon snack.

Registration fee: A nonrefundable registration fee of $25 per child must be paid after completing the online registration. Checks or cash may be deposited in the secure drop box located at the outside entrance to the SCOPE office at Wanless School, 2120 E. Reservoir. Please make sure your child’s name is written on the envelope. The fee may also be paid by credit or debit card on schoolpay.com. (Select “Summer Registration Fee.”)

Deadline: All registrations will be processed on a first come, first served basis after the $25 fee has been received by our office. We have limited capacity at each location, so early registration is encouraged. All registration must be received by May 17.

Confirmation: After submitting your $25 fee, please watch for an email from lwoollen@sps196.org or ariedell@sps186.org confirming your child has been accepted into Summer SCOPE and placed at either Wilcox or Lindsay. You will also receive a “Summer Mailer” with important information and paperwork that you will need to fill out and bring to your summer location on the first day of Summer SCOPE. You will receive this mailer in May either through your SCOPE Lead or by mail at your home address.

New policy regarding fees and attendance: This year Project SCOPE will pro-rate weekly fees one time only for children who miss an entire week of attendance (Monday through Friday). Families may choose one week during the summer to pay ½ the weekly fee of $125 if their child is absent an entire week and they have filled out the form available at the front desk of their summer location. Families will be charged the full $125 fee the rest of the summer, regardless of attendance.

Full weekly fees begin on June 3. If your child is not starting Summer SCOPE on June 3, you must notify our office and pay the $125 weekly fee ahead of time. If payment is not received, we will drop your child from the program and offer the spot to another family.

Weekly fees for students from Graham and Southern View will start on June 6, after their school year ends. The fee for those students only will be $50 for the week of June 6-7, and $125 per week thereafter.

Financial assistance: If you have or will be applying for financial assistance through Community Child Care Connection or through DCFS, please make sure your paperwork has been turned in at least three weeks before the first day of Summer SCOPE. If our office does not receive documentation from CCCC or DCFS of your approval, you will be responsible for paying the full weekly rate (whether your child attends Summer SCOPE or not).

CCCC payments are not prorated when a child is absent.

CCCC families who are currently enrolled in the school year SCOPE program will need to complete a Change of Provider form at least three weeks before Summer SCOPE begins. (Families from Lindsay or Wilcox do not need a Change of Provider form if they are staying at their home school for summer.)

District 186 will open registration for the 2024-25 school year on May 22, 2024. Families will also be able to register for SCOPE at the time through the District 186 registration portal.
