kindergarten scarves

Last year, this simple classroom moment reached more than 5.7 million people around the world.

So this year.. Mrs. Barnard did it again. And this time, it means even more.

Once again, Ridgely kindergarten students began in September by coloring pictures of scarves — filling them with favorite colors, patterns, and big imagination. Those drawings were sent to someone very special, who lovingly crocheted each one by hand, turning children’s creativity into warmth they could wrap around themselves. (CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS)

The surprise was just as magical. The smiles just as big. The joy just as real.

But this year carries deeper meaning.

The grandmother who made these scarves passed away just weeks ago. Yet her love is still here, made into every loop, every knot, every scarf placed gently around a child’s shoulders.

Her legacy lives on, continued by Mrs. Barnard's Aunt who stepped in to make sure the tradition, and the love behind it didn’t stop.

Sometimes kindness circles the world.

Sometimes it comes back again, stronger than before. 💛
