The Keep Kids In School Coalition held two physical & immunization clinics this past week. Nearly 300 students came through the Sangamon Department of Public Health for their back-to-school physical.
SIU Family Medicine & SIU Pediatrics care teams were able to assist many District 186 children at the clinics.
Please make sure to schedule your child's back to school physical before school begins on August 22nd. Students will be excluded from school after the 10th day of school.
All students entering a pre-k program, kindergarten, 6th grade, 9th grade and those new to Springfield Public Schools must provide proof of a physical exam completed by a physician, nurse practitioner or physician's assistant by the first day of school. An updated immunization record is also required.
Students participating in IESA and IHSA athletics are also required to have a physical and completed athletic permit card each year.
