Seven seats on the Board of Education, Springfield Public School District #186, will be up for election in the April 4, 2023, Consolidated Election. These seats are for Sub-Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Candidates in Sub-Districts 1, 2, and 6 will be seeking two-year terms ending in 2025. Candidates in Sub-Districts 3, 4, 5, and 7 will be seeking four-year terms ending in 2027. 

Any resident of these sub-districts who meets the qualifications to be a candidate may pick up a candidate’s packet from the office of the Board Secretary, located in the Administrative Center at 1900 W. Monroe Street, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or by visiting the Sangamon County Clerk’s website where the packet can be downloaded for printing at home. The first day to circulate nominating petitions for signature is September 20, 2022. 

Potential candidates are reminded that nominating papers must be filed with the Election Office of the Sangamon County Clerk during the period of December 12 to December 19, 2022.
