The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) selected their Hall of Fame Class of 2023. District 186 had two inductees for this year in the player category and both played at Lanphier High School. Congratulations to Doug Collins & Andre Iguodala!! 🏀
Doug Collins, played basketball for LHS in the 1980's and went on to play basketball at Iowa State. One of his best memories was playing in the 1986 Pekin Holiday Tournament for the championship.
After college, he came back to his alma mater and has been coaching LHS girls basketball for over 20 years. "Seeing the growth and development of student athletes in both the classroom and on the court is what I enjoy about coaching. My ultimate goal is to help as many student athletes as possible go to college on a scholarship," he said. Doug's passion for basketball and helping students to succeed is remarkable. He has a true heart of a lion!
