The Community Back-to-School Event serves as a one-stop destination for families preparing for the upcoming school year while strengthening connections between schools, families, and the community.

Just a reminder that our Spring Formal Dance is tomorrow from 6-8 PM in the gym at FMS! Entry to the dance will be at the gym doors. Cost is $5 per student, and concessions will be available for $2 each. Students must be in attendance at school in order to attend the dance, and they must have met the criteria to attend. We are excited to Bloom & Groove tomorrow night!
Fine Arts Fest is tomorrow! Join us at FMS from 6-8 for band and choir performances, art displays, cake walk, and pizza/concessions for sale!
Attention 8th Grade: The McNeese Physician Pipeline Preparatory Program (P4) is your ticket to an early start in the medical field! Gain hands-on experience, connect with mentors in the Springfield medical community, and get a head start on your future. We are accepting applications for incoming freshmen to apply for the P4 program for the 2026-2027 school year. Please note that each application will need a letter of recommendation from a teacher or school administrator.

Just a reminder for Falcon Families who were invited to Honors Night. This is TONIGHT at 6 PM at Southeast High School. Please enter through the South Doors of the gym, near Eisenhower Pool. Everyone will be required to pass through metal detectors. There is also a high school Boys City Track meet at Southeast today beginning at 4 PM. Please allow plenty of time for parking and walking to Honors Night.

No slippers, blankets, robes, etc. Remember, attendance matters, and we need you at school each and every day! The Open Gyms for Boys Track today and Girls Track tomorrow have been canceled. Try-Outs will proceed as scheduled for Monday & Tuesday 3/23-3/24 from 2:30 to 4 PM. Please check your email for the information that was to be passed out at the Open Gym.
The 8th Grade Girls Volleyball team will play in the Regional Championship in Quincy on Thursday at 5:30 PM. This is a date change due to the projected storms. Go Falcons!
The Science Fair Showcase is tomorrow 2/19 from 6:00-7:00 PM. 6th Grade projects will be displayed in the library. 7th and 8th grade projects will be displayed in the cafeteria. Hope to see you there!

FMS will play Quincy in the 8th Grade Boys Basketball Regional at Chatham at 9 AM on Saturday. This is a schedule change due to the weather. Attached is the updated schedule for Saturday's regional.

Falcon Families, this is a reminder that Friday, December 19, is a 1:30 PM dismissal for both students and staff. We will celebrate the end of first semester with a movie at the end of the day. Students will have the opportunity to purchase snacks for $2 each. Happy Holidays!
FMS is seeking CHESS PLAYERS to participate in the State Tournament for Chess! The tournament is held on Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28 in Peoria. The cost is $15 to participate. Please see Mrs. Sevener if you are interested. The deadline to register is January 27.
